I had a dream that fs.HP had a 3 frame startup like fs.HK did LOL…
Cammy can focus you to death if you abuse s.HP but yeah, it has great priority against her.
So apparently not playing against a good boxer for over a year makes you bad at the matchup and you forget everything except hit st.strong a lot.
Anyone got tips?
I generally like to run left/right electricity and this works against mediocre boxers but this guy can tell what side I’m on so I was having trouble getting damage outside of ultra and unblockables.
EDIT: overhead stuff doesn’t work on boxer well, so ehhh
Edit2: I think I was just pressing too much. Need to re research aa ranges. Like I just need to be willing to block 30 dash punches.
Last night at Top 8 for NW Majors a decent Blanka player (forgot his name, sorry) got blown up by PR Rog… he used focus dash to escape the unblockable.

well two ways i play vs boxer. one is to stay outside and try to build meter. use neutral jumps at the right spaces and slide at max range (his fa will whiff it) i’ll do things like focus attack backdash into electricity to blow up torpedo punches. It’s not really in your favor you’re behind if you play that way but if you can draw him into something you can gain a life lead and then try to sit on it.
another way i think is to find the sweetspot where your c.HK and his c.HK have the same threat range. So if you block his c.HK i believe you can punish it with your c.HK. Then the rest of his normals stop them on startup with fs.LP. It’s really hard and i’m not entirely sure it’s possible but i feel like there is this TINY space where you can fight him and it’s not terrible for you. Using things like c.HK fs.LP and lvl 1 fa when he doesn’t have charge. But I think this would require some sick foots and i don’t think any of us is really qualified for that.

I had tested overhead’s stuff when 2K12’s update was coming, and it all works on Balrog, but maybe you will eat an dash/Ultra/Super on hit? I wonder if LP Ball is safeball after landing overhead, stand LP xx ?
However, against Rog, i have a lot of troubles but less than against Fei/Cammy/Dicta, i feel like a game plan can be done but it’s really hard to do, just avoid this fucking range of his cr.LP and out of this zone, Blanka can play. Classic pokes are effective, i like a lot stand HP and cr. MP, great hitbox for both and not a hugh recovery, so i space him and wait for the opportunity to get a knockdown (it can be very long… lame match-up), so i go to kill his charge with hops and go for something decent like overhead setup or a meaty cr.lk/cr.mk.
A good Boxer doesn’t use his specials a lot, because they are not great, and i believe Blanka has good stuff to counter that like a good focus range, ball to break armor break, elec good priorities, slide, ultra on reaction etc…
I test if lp ball is always a safeball on hit on Balrog and it’s weird, sometimes reversal super can hit me, sometimes no.
Any advices against Adon please guys?
what exactly are you having trouble with?
Dealing with his specials, how to counter that kind of stuff, his pressure, his zoning (his stand roundhouse is awesome) etc…
s.hk beats his Jaguar Tooth dive kick clean. Don’t jump at him when he has two bars and ultra stocked, not that you ever would. Because he wakes up earlier than most I generally try to make him whiff rising jaguar with early jump ins. Basically attack early and hard then hold off and wait for the dive kicks. That said, when cornered his arcing jaguar kicks are mostly safe on block, best not get into that range, frame trap city.
st.hk beats tooth, and jag kick. you can also cowards crouch into elec vs. jag kick preemptively.
Standard safejumps work on him.
Keeping charge with meter and the lifelead can help a lot.
Air jag kicks whiff on blanka a lot so you can punish.
Meaty cr.strong can beat his dps.
If adon picks u1 you can safeball it, try to bait! You can safeball lk jag kick but it’s hard.
Be wary of st.hk but remember it’s slow so adon should be wary.
Whiff punish everything! jag kicks and st.hk have a lot of recovery.

His wake up was broken on the old version, now he has a classic wake up and his dp is 5f so you can safe jump him like Veserius said.
Ves, i didn’t know about cr.mp beating his dp on meaty, at the end of the first video, you beat something with cr.mp at 1:09, what was that?

Yeah that was me beating the dp with cr.mp. Blanka is surprisingly good at doing that with various normals.
Nice safejump setup off f.throw. Late j.mk… but would an empty jump work too? With an OS crouchtech / cr.lk xx elec to follow?
I suppose a safejump is a safejump or a more frequently just a ‘bait’.
So mashing OS’s is likely something I should not do after a safejump. Yeah?
I haven’t seen the videos yet but what do people use to whiff punish st.rh? It doesn’t seem all that slow recovering to me. it dominates a huge space in front of adon where I don’t feel I can do much.
