AE 2013 Yang wishlist

You’d best combo it into ultra while you’re at it!

EDIT: Even better yet, do it after the launcher -> jump fierce reset, seems like the better chance to do it without being too obvious because it’s easy to time even without normals.

Hah, I was wondering earlier today how much damage would the overhead to ultra do and this solves it. Maybe doing 409 from an overhead would be a bit too much… but Ibuki can vortex characters from her overhead and Dudley probably has similar damage output from his overhead.

lol you seriously getting p***** because i dont agree with some of the changes, as you might have known its a forum people use them to post opinions whether you like it or not and yes if you read my post i did post what my own suggestions.

BNB Damages with yang

cr lp st lp cr mk xx rekkas: 179 Damage
cr lp st mp st lk xx rekkas: 190 Damage
easy bnb works on all crouching character
cr lp st mp cr mk xx rekkas: 214 Damage
This is a one frame but its one of the easiest in the game and plinkable.

For punish he has
st hp xx mp palm fadc cr lk xx rekkas: 297 Damage
Easy 2 frame link.

st hp xx mp palm fadc st lp st hp xx rekkas: 331 Damage or end hk roll kicks for 336 damage
1 Frame

As you can see he can do alot of damage for a character type he is.

One other change apart from being able to cross up Rose lk dp fadc being -1 on block no changes to other roll kicks fadc on block.

Damage buff on Ex.rekka could be done creatively to boost the damage. For example;

 • If you do Ex.Rekka by using lp and mp, it functions as it normally would now with the same damage and mix-up potential. If you do Ex.rekka using mp and hp, it does all 5 slashes consecutively automatically, and takes on properties of moves of that nature. A multi-hitting move that only requires 1 input only scales as one move. Just an, admittedly obscure, idea. I like the thought of the damage boost on it any way it’s handled though.

Edit: @Hitenryu Sorry dude. Finals have me mad salty and fried. You are correct about the right to express your opinion, I appreciate your input. No hard feelings? We on the same side, bro

here’s my list:
[]invicibilty frames for lk tp(from frame 1 or 2 to end)
[
]little buff for palms damage and meter build

1 or 2 frames block stun for dive kick
@koufdell I really like the second item on your list especially. Palm meter build on whiff should be reverted. Yang has no way to build meter on whiff in 2012 like, at all. lk.dp builds a decent amount, but from full screen it can be punished by literally everyone I think

Yang’s super was nothing special.

Palms haven’t actually change aside from damage, so your point is moot.

Yang’s divekick was still the worse divekick in the game next to Juri. His divekicks have actually barely changed.

AFAIK meaty overhead is not +3 on crouching characters… so is kind of useless to use it as a meaty

uhhhhhh 300 blockstring chip damage wasn’t special? lol

palms have been reduced in active frames by a lot…stun down by 50 iirc as well…

Yang’s dive kick is hardly the worst, nor is Juri’s…

edit: Yang’s overhead is +3 when it’s done meaty on crouching. I think it can be +4 if they stand.

If Yang can do over 300 damage on block and 600 on hit it isn’t ridiculous? If you landed a reset you could do over a 1000 easily. His palms had 13 active frames and they now have 9. With the right spacing and done as a meaty they could stuff almost everything. HP palm lost 50 stun as well.

Also I’d argue Yang’s divekick is a lot better than Cammy’s in the neutral game. Well aside from Ex cannon strike.

Yang can STILL do over 600 with his 2012 Super.

Palms are projectiles. Everything from SRKs to ultras goes right through them.

Going from 13 frames to 9 frames is irrelevant in practical terms. They still stay out for a fuckload of time.

Losing 50 stun is not significant, since nobody typically gets hit with a HP Palm outside of corner launcher juggle.

No, Yang’s dives are not better than Cammy’s in the neutral game. Cammy’s dives have unblockable setups into nearly 300 damage meterless. Yangs are slower than Yuns have a massive height restriction and are unsafer in 2012.

They’re okizeme not neutral. Or then I understand the term of neutral wrong. Yang’s divekicks aren’t meant for wake-up pressure or the type of pressure Rufus has. They’re meant for getting closer (which they work fine at) or as footsie tools against low-hitting normals like Ryu’s sweep of cr. mk which again is still good.

Also I doubt most non-ex srk’s have 13 frames of projectile invincibility…

All divekicks serve the same purposes: to get you closer, quick attacks from the air or to apply a left/right mixup on wakeup. Some are better than others in one or more of these. Cammy’s are superior to Yangs in at least two (quick attacks and left/right)

Palm hitboxes disappear when Yang is hit. Therefore, it doesn’t matter at what time the opponent does them - they will blow through the palm projectile, hit Yang, and the projectile immediately disappears. Most SRKs are projectile invincible on startup, some have a few frames after startup as well.

Yes but it doesn’t mean that Yang’s is worse just because it can’t be used like Cammy’s on your opponent’s wake-up. Yang isn’t designed for that. Cammy can’t use hers much in the neutral game but Yang can and no it’s not quicker than Yang’s. Trust me I’ve played her since super.

Ah, ok so that’s how it works. Thanks for correcting me.

Cammy’s are better than Yang’s once she has meter, if only because EX DK is so scary. She doesn’t use them nearly as much as Yang would when dive kicking in is a required option because she doesn’t need to. Many characters are scared to try AAing dive kicks as it is; it’s a lot scarier to try AAing Cammy because her EX DK is not only difficult to AA with no height restriction, it actually stuffs good AA normals. That being said, Juri’s and Yang’s dive kicks are not terrible. Juri does not use her dive kick the way Cammy and Yang do to begin with. The worst dive kick award probably goes to Gouken, since he can only use it off demon flip at a fairly high distance. Still, having the worst dive kick is like having the worst Ferrari. It’s still a dive kick and therefore pretty awesome to have.

Palm having more active frames did mean a lot, but yes, not for those reasons. It’s because your frame advantage was much higher on block in a lot of situations. How long they stay out is irrelevant for the most part, but +4 is always a big deal. I say for the most part because matches like Zangief are the exception: Palm being out for even one more frame would make a big deal. We all thought it didn’t before Yun and Yang were released, but then we saw people actually playing. Palm is a big deal in these match ups.

Losing stun is always significant, especially since Yang can actually turn his HP Palm into combos. Blowing up crouch tech with it and scoring a counter hit gives way more stun in AE than it would now. It’s not much of a game changer though, yeah.

Doing 300 damage on block, completely safe, was the “stupid” problem with Super. Landing 600 is pretty unlikely in a real match, but his reset applications are still retarded, so leaving the chip damage to 1/8th is fine.

Since “my buffs do nothing for Yang”, I guess I’ll add explanations (bored since Windows is re-installing on another computer…)

dunno if anyone knew that but I looked into Yang’s bcm file and I noted not only they shrunk the hitbox by 0.10 in width (which is A LOT) but they also moved it more toward the end of his foot (something I don’t see that was documented)

Spoiler

maybe they could put back to where it was before, without having it have a big width. Or just try to find something in the middle…aka tweak it to make it more cross up more ?

man i don’t really care what they do. long as yang gets some help. because honestly this character is pretty damn terrible atm.

Look at how Kyoku is doing and say that again. Yang might be lacking in a couple of areas but I’d say he’s still pretty good.

In my opinion, are terrible, Rose, T.Hawk, Hakan.Elfuerte, Yang still good, but needs a lot of work to win

Yo Rose isn’t bad either.

Top 5 in footsies easily and her Ultra 2 set-ups are ridiculous.
