ill be rooting for you on the next season beatings, champ

Uh, I’ve beat a few tourney players annonymously using Chun at local arcades/conventions and online. Whenever I lose to a great player it’s not because of EX SBK, it’s because of other factors such as her low HP or bad reads from my part.

You can actually still hit Gouki/Yun/Yang/Rufus with their demon flip or dive kicks with EX SBK. The timing is a just a little trickier. Yeah sure, you’ll get lame hits where it only lands one hit, but so what? At least you knocked them away from pressure. You think that your opponent who earned the footsies, spacing, timing and mixups to knock you down, and now all of a sudden they get penalized and should get sucked in by a vacuum effect into EX SBK? That’s pretty broken dude. They earned to get you on knockdown and mixup pressure and now you have a super buffed anti-air that sucks them in? That totally kills the purpose for people like Yun, Yang, Gouki, Zangief, and any other character that jumps in.

Yeah sure, sometimes Ryu players will time their j.rh and it’ll kick you out of EX SBK, but at least you are in a hit reset state and you have time to move back and do something else.

Yeah sure, EX SBK sucks against Viper at times when Viper does flame kicks, but sometimes at least you still have a chance to knock fire bitch away if you time EX SBK correctly.

Yea sure, Ibuki’s kicking move when she jumps and steps on you (optional follow up with kunai toss) Ibuki would usually hit you if you whiff an EX SBK that was timed incorretly. However if you DO time it right, you’d get 2-3 hits to knock her away.

Just so you know, if you’re getting owned by divekicks and flip kicks because you can’t time you EX SBK properly, then perhaps you might wanna practice those matchups more.

The only time I see that EX SBK is super risky is against Seth’s Shoryuken or sometimes Gouken’s flip kicks.

Chun-Li is very fair. Adding more onto EX SBK is not necessary.

No, she would not be cheap at all. She would still have bad matchups, her three classic bad matchups (Akuma, Rufus and Viper) would still be bad, because she can only do four ex sbks in a short amount of time. All Akuma would have to do is use a safe jump once and a while instead of dive kick, Rufus would still hands down beat her because getting hit with the SBK isnt that big of a deal if he can get back in again, and viper just goes ape shit on chun regardless of ex sbk.

Im really not trying to be mean, but its so obvious that you arent very good with chun dude. I like her a lot and all, ive even played some top level players myself, some of which I beat. I have absolutely no issue saying that she isnt good. When I win, I seriously out play my competition, when I lose, I dont necessarily get out played. Thats the problem with Chun at the moment. You going on ranked mode or endless mode and winning against a bunch of randomers doesnt mean jack shit.

you obviously never played a good akuma who can stuff every single ex sbk you do without any kind of skill at all. you obviously never played a ryu who put you in a safe jump loop. I play Akuma, a late dive kick beats ex sbk, it doesnt trade. It depends on how the Akuma player times it, and any Akuma player that reads the Akuma forum knows what to do. I know some other chun players on my friends list that I occasionally play Akuma v Chun with, they are better with Chun than I am with Akuma, and I rarely lose because of how lopsided that match is.

Even if it did trade, THATS ONE EX BAR. You lose the ability to do good damage until you regain. the economics of ex sbk just arent in its favor. if you use an ex bar for a reversal IT SHOULD BE FUCKING AMAZING, because she has NOTHING without ex. The vacuum would only serve to keep the opponents in, or if they are really close, it will force them to block.

No dude, you need to play people who actually understand their characters. Akumas dp beats EX SBK too. I forget if it has to be EX or not, but it doesnt even trade.

SBK does has an horrible hitbox, many blankas and bipsons can land on top of her w/o getting hit at all

Hey do you play on PC? If so, I’d like to play you sometime. You up for a few sets of ft5 sometime?

sure i guess, though I rarely go on there, I suppose I could do some more Akuma/Ryu v Chun work

I see you’re from NorCal, I am from the east coast. the likelyhood of us having a decent match is pretty slim, but if the lag isnt too bad im fine with just doing whatever

Make Hazanshu hit people not on the ground. I think that gets blown up too easily on reaction.

also I think Chun having horizontal hitboxes that covers both legs on the 1st active frame would be welcomed. Having the 1st hitbox only appear on one foot is a bit stupid IMO

or better make it focus breaker

that would be insanely awesome

I kind of wish her normal legs built more meter and were good like in ST.

thats what i read

air SBK and walk up hosenka NAO

walk up hosenka would be the biggest fuck you to everything ever. I would adore it. Sup, viper? cool seismo! -ultra-

How about a 1 frame cancellable over head that links into all her other normals, AND is focus breaks and does 350 stun. And a super where she just goes spread eagle and the opponent loses by default cause nobody wants to fight a B.A.A (Big Ass Asian)

what? have you read my first post?

now stfu

Yeah! Are you able to play sometime on Saturday afternoon? Like anywhere from 2-5 PM in your timezone?

Try adding my GFWL ID: MmPierremM

or was it add by email? I forgot lol

look EX sbk is indeed a very good reversal move

akuma can do that too, except it hits you. but hey you can at least back dash right? Oh wait, Akuma has an option select that beats back dash, ex sbk and jumping :expressionless:
