I got confirmation that U2 still trades, so my old theory about this buff was wrong cause they reduced invicibility too (9f startup and 8f inv instead of 10 startup and 9f inv)…I wonder what was the point of this so called “buff” then
If any part of the 2nd half of legs connect, she can still potentially get the frame advantage. I’ve used cl. HK xx HK Legs~MK Legs and all the hits of the 2nd part doesn’t connect fully on everyone, but I can still link stuff like st. FP or Ultra 1 afterward even when only some of the hits do.
Edit: From watching the archived stream, it looks like NONE of the 2nd half of legs connected on Ryu when the Chun player tried. Is that what you meant? If so, that is unfortunate. :bluu:
Guys, I really hope capcom could give back chun li down forward LK or improved any of her anti air moves so she can use it to against characters like yang, yun or even cammy dive kick. Also hope capcom improve her ultra 1 that will hit every characters in the corner to full ultra animation. Rather than that, please increase kikosho damage to 370 at least would be great. Hope I’m not too over wishing:)
They did say that they were going to address the issue with Ultra 1 but I haven’t seen any 2012 test videos showing that this was used on characters that fell out (Rose). With Kikosho I hope that they do increase damage output also, especially after any combo. I think 370 is a good number too for Kikosho.
If they want us to use the target combo I like to be able to use the 3 x head stomps after target combo instead of just using ex sbk, super, or ultras. I know I mentioned this before but hey, why not be able to use it?
With the df lk, a bigger attack box and smaller hit box would better.

Your best bet is to go to www.capcom-unity.com’s forum and look for a chun li 2012 thread. Btw, where did you see the 2012 test with the combo s hp -> h sbk?

I was thinking that perhaps removing df lk altogether and add fdf kick which will launch a upward spin kick similar to her target combo (lk-> 1 kick, mk -> 2 kicks, hk -> 3 kicks, ex -> 3 kicks with better frames/armor breaker and can follow by head stomps). That should be a good reversal for dive kicks and an awesome AA. Anyone with me on this one?
LOL… And why not make all her normals +7 on block or hit, sorry but that would just make her OP, as funny as it would be. What you’re suggesting is giving her an Armour breaking DP (which isn’t exactly common lol) and have it fast start up and can be combo’d after. Realistically she doesn’t need much just something to deal with divekicks, I think Skatan’s suggestions of improved hit box to st.lp and turning cl.hk into a normal that can be used at any spacing would both be fairly balanced changes that would suit her and help with divekicks or just buff her EX SBK to not be so vulnerable to downward attacks and give it a hit box that extends behind her as well as in front of her from the first frame…
It was meant to be food for thought but after I uploaded the comment I started laughing at it myself and agree that it would make her OP. With all honesty I agree with you about Skatan’s suggestions and especially her EX SBK. I can’t stand it when an opponent whiffs on ex sbk and just sits there waiting to punish.

What does everyone think of the new Chun AE 2012? Does her new buffs fair to the new ae 2012 characters?
the only buff i noticed was the slightly easier timing on her ultra combo after ex legs, not that it was hard in the first place.
her EX SBK is still a very flimsy reversal that whiffs or gets broken up by so many moves (ryu’s crossup knee tap?..i mean COME ON!)
i love the character, but you are already making us use 1 meter for a decent reversal, the least capcom could have done was make it a little more solid.
Yeah…They should’ve given a 1-3 frame upper leg invincibility with ex sbk. I also noticed a lot more shoryuken counters after the 2 x cr shorts when doing 2 x cr short, ex legs (never happened before unless a lot of lag). Here’s also what I noticed… Ultra 1 still has issues when used against some (new shoto) characters. Anyone noticed new disadvantages using Chun and with that how to deal with the new issues?
