Advice on hit confirming

It isn’t that simple. I think it depends on how fat the other character is, and how early you cancel from the fireball, but you can get either more or less damage from doing the fireball vs. not. But ya, OP should still just get used to doing it without, since it’s scrubby and will get punished hard one day.

Holy shit … almost year 2013 and people still having problems with short short super. oh wait, its kens target combo into super, feels more like 2002. I’ve got this feeling like as the years go people start asking questions about easier and easier questions

To be fair, it’s taken me years to get short short Super. Granted it’s because of all the years of playing Q and Urien that I had little chances of learning hitconfirms, but learning reactionary stuff like that can be a hurdle.

I’ve probably seen less than a dozen people online that can actually do short short super. What’s worse than Mongolia?

i’ve always just hit short short as fast as i could (ie even before the first short is done) then buffered the super afterwards, with dudley

sometimes i miss it because i also play the twins and am used to linking them…

but if you can do short jab short super, then short short super is basically the same

i think the main thing is you need to focus, i mean sometimes when i’m just playing for whatever reason, to pass the time or whatever then i won’t use a char i need to hitconfirm with, or with easier hit confirms, because i know i’m not concentrating 100%.

btw how did nuki combo an sa2 off crouching jab that one time???

The trick to confirming, is to not auto pilot. Focusssssssssssssssss…

Lol, that was me! I was the purple ken getting revenge on some people that have beat me pretty good in the past. I got a 15 game win streak at one point  I have a lot of game knowledge, and I’m not that good because I still do stupid shit all the time like trying to parry everything, but I’ve improved a lot this past year.

You gonna be there tomorrow?

He probably didn’t and just punished a whiffed move with cr.lpxxSA2. Game knowledge and spacing here IMO, not direct reaction off a hit.

Maybe. The whole thing is starting to feel like kind of a drag.

you can definitely do low jab houyoku on reaction to a parry. Usually I buffer it in low jab though if I’m trying to beat the start up of a move during footsies. same as necros low short electric snake, dud st rh ex mgb, etc.

true. real saado players dont waste time with girlfriends. 3s > girls

No excuses or bitching, just be there!

True love and a good family are the only two things in this world that are greater than 3s.

Indeed, parry adds a lot of time to confirm and the parry flash itself helps to react quicker. But do you confirm the lp hit or do you just launch SA2 as soon as you see the parry (assuming you’re confident enough about the buffered cr.lp and don’t even need to actually see it)?

To get back at short short super with shotos, I agree with aku cause that’s gotta be the most difficult hit-confirm for me. I need to focus like fuck to get it right consistently… otherwise my muscle memory takes over and I just throw the super anyways as if I had foreseen that moment lol.
It’s quite frustrating.

btw Ken’s a great character if you want to train hit-confirms! Whenever I take 3s seriously again, I always start by working on my Ken for honing my reaction skills. ^^

Edit: well actually, UOH to super is actually the hardest for me. Any tips? I feel the timing’s really tight.

You need to focus on 3 things:

  • make uoh hits the latest possible
  • execute SA motion during hitstun
  • drum/piano all K buttons

Btw, if you space it right and time your pianoing correctly, you don’t actually need to confirm anything, the game will do it for you.

I find UOH super to be one of his easier to confirm ones (so long as you’re good at the meaty timing or getting the right spacing down for max range).

yeah, for ken and dud for example the spacing is pretty lenient (a little~a bit spacing between shadows). for chun iirc it needs to be at max range.
