And there it is:

Tends to work quite a lot but no doubt it’s relevant to the reaction of the opponent, though typical jab priority applies so unless they throw you or use an invincibility-frame wakeup it can be quite useful.
Other than that I learned quite a few things whilst going for naked-ultra for chip vs Cammy - Seems she cannot Reversal Ultra or EX CSpike out of there (Though I’ve seen her escape if the Rog uses an Upper as first hit, she can just use a CShort or some move to hit you under it) and I even stuffed her Ultra with an EX DS.
This is Vanilla though, no idea if it’s been changed in Super. The rest is just me Perfecting inexperienced players or using Ultra v Ultra, nothing fancy.
Once again, an age old concept and practiced bait but managed to pull it off for the first time.
Was playing a mate (mains Gouken) and was going 6-6 before we called it - During one of the matches I CH TAP (Armor Broke) through his Parry Attempt into CJab CShort EX Upper CJab CShort EX Upper - Whiffed Throw, He goes for a throw as an instant reaction which whiffed (The only interesting part about this is that on most characters you only need to walk a mere pixel forward to grab people after an EX Upper or Upper (Most people either mash to get out [you will sadly lose to invincibility moves but can grab people out of poke attempts] or most will sit there waiting to see when the loop stops [what you want] so on this occasion I just didn’t hold forward for that split second and both mine and his throw whiffed) right into CJab CJab CShort CHeadbutt Ultra.
I know baiting and whiffing throws aren’t much new but lately I’ve been adopting them as a reset to Upper Loops or Uppers in general against most characters. It’s nice to know that the throw is relatively solid if timed right (Not too early, not too late to be mashed out of) and that even just taking a mere pixel backwards after said upper gives enough space to see if you can bait a throw whiff to combo into whatever you want, beit standing jabs into Upper for more looping or a regular BnB.
Sick, though I’m having some trouble pulling it off. From your inputs (hard to make out, can’t fullscreen at work where I watched it :P) it looks like you’re doing almost a TK motion for your strong headbutt on the crossup. When I do this I almost always get a jumping strong instead of strong headbutt.
If you’re getting the strong, you’re probably doing the motion too slowly. I had the same problem initially when I was first testing this out. You barely have to move forward at all for it to cross to the other side so I think as long as you do the TK motion, you will get the crossup.
i tried that before but i dont do the jab after the naked headbutt because it will those to a throw. i just throw instead. the worst that can happen is a tech
Im not sure if this is known but I had a Chun li match yesterday when the chunli player used kikoken then walked up and used hazanshu. I focused the fireball and some how managed to dash under the hazanshu and ultra her lol. I Will try and get a video uploaded at some point. Ive tried just dash ultra under hazanshu in the training but I cant seem to get the timing right
edit: misread the question, thought i saw an FADC in there.
walking back for sure. balrog’s dash backwards already isn’t very far. walking provides a better defense and is a better tool for positioning.
an article on srk recommended before that you should only dash if you need to get somewhere quick (e.g. zangief whiffing PPP lariats for meter from full screen). otherwise, use walking for spacing.
ok here is how it went. I was on the right side of the wall. The chun li did lp kikoken from about mid screen, dashed forward twice then did hk hazanshu.
pretty sure that hazanshu wouldve whiffed then anyway. sounds like you didn’t dash under the hazanshu. she whiffed it over your head and you just did a dash autocorrected ultra.
nah I did dash under. I set up the training dummy with chun and did kikoken then walk up hazanshu with hk and it combo’d. I then let the set up do its thing but this time I focused the kikoken and then did forward dash and dashed under the hazanshu then ultra. works mid screen also. I also tested it with bison and it works the same way Will look into getting my good friend to make a video of it or just get a capture card on pay day
You know its really funny reading this so call advance mind tricks thread and I know I may get a couple of hate mail but noobs, scrubs whatever you want to categorize them into. They actually read this garbage get online and try what they read… Then they wonder why they lose most of the time smfh
Hey guys, has anyone figured out a way to stop the last hit of a dash ultra from wiffing when connecting mid screen? Alot of times the last hit whiffs and they punish me hard for it or is this only reliable with the right spacing or in the corner?
Quick judgment call. If they have a long recovery before your first ultra straight would hit, do a RU instead and let it whiff. the second-final hits will finish.
I have a question guys. I know that you can meaty normal Abel on his wake up Breathless and cancel into a super (ie: meaty c.mk->super). My question is, after the meaty c.mk do i hold the charge until after abel’s ultra flash animation is done and my meaty c.mk is absorbed then proceed to do the super canel?
