With Adon’s fast wakeup and low dash people usually just forward dash out of crossups.

Do you think changes to his wake-up time in AE are going to affect this?

Yup, block on wake up in AE homie.

RJ fadc cl. RH for more stun and rj after fadc for more dmg. Evilsigh is correct.

i glanced some of the Adon combo pages but not all,so apologies if this is already known,but
in training mode against Cody i got neutral j.HK into U2 several times,not sure if it’s already known
or if it’s character specific but seems legit,so Adon experts,i humbly ask for you to impart some wisdom here,thanks

I guess its possible, the nj.hk seems to have a shit loads of +frames on hit. I guess its much like his jf.hk which lets you go into u2, you just gotta hit deep.

Yeah I can confirm u can link u2 from nj.hk, I seem to NEVER miss it in the corners vs guy/fei but I have missed it a couple of times vs fuerte/cammy (might have just been my timing though, need to lab it)

I think there should be a sticky on shoryuken main page to warn people about not posting it when they discover jump ins can combo into ultras.

It’s pretty useless for characters that have fast ultras with good horizontal range, let alone adon’s U2.

After blocking Blanka’s ultra 1 just hold upforward and you can jump in on blanka straight away due to Adons narrow jump.After the jump in heavy punch I just go straight into ultra 2.

Due to Adons ‘dart’ like neutral jump heavy kick,you can kinda confirm on the way down into Ultra 2 with it if you’re good at getting neutral jump heavies.Apart from that though,yeah jumping heavy attack into ultra is pretty useless.

A simple close st.HK beats the hop of Blankas U1, but it’s EXTREMELY risky. I did it as a complete fluke.

Question about Jaguar Kick’s frame data on block:

Is it ALWAYS -1 (MK/HK) on block? It doesn’t matter how early/late the kick hits right? (As in tip of the Jaguar Kick)

If you’re blocking ex-messiah from rufus, and you know he’s gonna do the overhead ender, cl.rh will cleanly beat it. Yeah in other words cl.rh isn’t the most useful thing but there are interesting trivial uses here and there…

If he’s gonna do the hk ender focus it for a crumple or dash underneath him for a combo or I believe you can hold up and get a jump-in combo.

If he does the mk ender it’s harder to punish because it’s faster.

hi guys. i’ve started playing adon as an alt to my guile.

couple of quick questions:

is overhead neutral jump hk punishable on hit? any decent mind games/follow ups to it that are useful?

overall rough matchup tips for the dhalsim match. (dont wanna sound rude as i’m new here…but someone really should update and add info to the first page of the matchup thread)

cant see where it’s worth picking ultra 1 (except maybe vs dhalsim). i don’t really ever have a problem getting in on anyone. can anyone enlighten me on good ultra 1 uses?

Don’t press buttons for no reason, be patient, use focus>forward dash to advance, learn to punish the instant overhead on hit (tbh I forgot what the punish is). JK/iAJK over low limbs or fireballs etc. Once you’re in he’s fucked.

Depends on your playstyle. I find it not very good and only use it against gouken, because his high, low fireball game is annoying if you don’t have EX and due to his nature, you won’t get many chances to rising jag xx ultra. Most players will reccomend using it against sagat and akuma too, it doesn’t work that well for me though, and it sometimes whiffs when you try to punish a DP.

I use u1 against these guys almost always…

Ryu - fireballs, air tatsus
Akuma - fireballs, air tatsus even normal tatsu’s if you time it well
Bison - crusher and I think headstomps can be punished
Blanka - roll punish!
Honda - max of 510 damage against honda to punish a messed up headbutt is win :slight_smile:
Gouken - as tvg
sim - fireballs, limbs tele etc.

Sometimes:
Rog - punish rush punches etc

I think U1 is also a pretty excellent choice against Viper. Its presence totally shuts down ground pound mindgames.

Flashmetroid answered these questions about Viper and i thought it was great information to anyone thinking about playing her seriously. This info would be great for opening post.

You can use U1 just for the strategy of making the op to stop throwing fb or doing blanka rolls etc. Don’t just limit your thinking to damage.
