Adobe Photoshop question

I’m trying to put an image on top of another, however the image want to put on top has square edges and i’d like to sort of blur the edges so blends in better with the other picture.
COuld anyone tell me how to blur the edges of an image using adobe photoshop?

Any help will be much appreciated

What you could do is cut the image itself out of the picture either using the magnetic lasso tool (easiest method of cutting imo) … the magic wand tool, or erase from around the image.

not sure that I really understand, but here is a couple of ways…

use the blur tool from the toolbox, manually blur the edges. you can adjust the strength of it as well if it goes to far.

the other way would be to select the image on top in the layers pallette so it brings up the marquee around the edge of the picture. Then go to select>feather. Put it how many pixels you want to feather it in the pop up window (this will take some going back and forth to get it how you want it) Then go to select>Inverse. Now just hit delete and it will soften up the edges for you. If you want more fading you can manually do so with your eraser tool set to a low level.

hope that helps man. If not, post a little more clear exactly what you are trying to do and I will try to help you.
