payment sent for art/plexi and sent files.
i think that was me, it seems there is some demand for it, of course if someone closer to you than new york would like to hand off their panel/whole stick to you that would be easier.
Hi Art, awesome work you’re doing here. If I wanted a plexi for my TE with only four holes that would count as a custom request right? How much would you charge for that? I’m not ready to order yet, so I’m just wondering.
By the way, I didn’t saw any information about it (sorry if I missed that out), but what about the buttons ? Do standard Sanwa buttons still fit in after putting the plexi ?
If by standard, you mean snap ins, then yes. Both types work very nicely.
Yesssssss. Got my tracking #.
A little late to the party here but I got the Plexi for my HRAP3 last week. It arrived it excellent condition, Art man you wraps these things up tighter than drum bro. Really pleased on how it looks on my HRAP3, not ready to post pics yet, still waiting for my buttons to come from LL. But I would have no problem ordering another one, god forbid Hori ever makes enough HRAPs that I could buy a second stick, I may have to get the Mad Cats TE instead. Anyway great job, all around. Thanks.
any ETA on the plexi orders? you used to have status updates on what orders are shipping by the date the orders were placed. just curious whats up because i cant wait for my order to arrive. thanks!
Whew… Sorry about not updating sooner guys. Definitely pushing all available time to churn out the plexis and get loads of artwork printed and cut. Still not sleeping till 3am-4am, lol.
But the good news is I’m pretty caught up. The rest of the last week’s orders on my plate mostly include artwork, which should be caught up tonight, except for those I’m still talking to on some art modifications.
This weekend will be clearing up the BIG Canada order, so Meus, yours should be ready by Monday or Tues. I’m hoping to get the artwork print out tomorrow. Will also be getting to the new orders so those should go out quickly.
With that said, I can finally avail the HRAP1/T5 plexi’s this weekend. Sorry for the extra wait on those.
Also this weekend will be working on the VSHG cover prototype, for those interested. And if there’s some time left, I might even be able to play around with the SE cover.
Overall, lots and lots to do! My gf’s about to quit her PetCo job and just work for me, lol.
And still a backlog on getting to emails, so I’m getting to them one at a time. If you haven’t heard from me, and it’s only been a day since your email, please bear with me. Many people ahead in line that I need to get to, and I still need to eat and sleep =)
Hey Jay, yeah because I would be cutting a completely new hole that’s not in my original pattern, it’ll require some time and testing, which falls under a “custom”. Even though it’s a minor request, I still do a bit to make sure things are right. Because of that, I don’t want to hold up everyone else’s production while working on yours, so I need to find a time where it’s not as busy to do it. But if you want to speed things up, then yeah I should have your cover in production this weekend if you don’t need that extra hole.
Gratz on getting another HRAP and TE during these scarce times =)
I think one was you, and there was another who mentioned it too. But I’m so far swamped with emails I can’t remember what is what right now. I’ll revisit this in a little bit.
Thanks Accel. From what I can gather here, I’m assuming you just specific holes cut, right? But you’re not changing the position of the holes. If it’s just a matter of not cutting something from an existing pattern, there’s no custom charge for that. It’s only if you want something completely different, like add an extra hole somewhere, that would fall under a custom. In your case, assuming it’s what I think you want, you can just order a 6-hole and in special notes, in CAPS, remind me you only want a specific 4. No extra charge buddy =).
Thanks man! And I would say that if a TE is available first within your price range, I personally would suggest you get one. As much as I love my HRAP, the TE does feel damn good. I don’t think you will be dissappointed with the TE’s design.
You’ll be happy to know that your print was in my print batch that I just came from today. If all goes well, expect yours to ship out Monday =).
you know, you went and bought a laser cutter, might as well get an industrial printer too.
I’m curious what your day job is Art, I understand if you don’t want to tell though.
Thanks for the response Art, I forgot to mention that I was talking about the screw holes. When ordering I’d still be going with the default 8 button setup of the TE, just without the two holes for the screws in the center of the plexi/acryllic.
I’m pretty certain that I’ll be ordering from you now, thanks again!
Hey Art, what if all we have is a layout with the holes ._. (I’m borrowing layouts from the generous givers of SRK at the TE/SE thread, but sadly, they didn’t post the original art) Would you still take it? Thanks ^^

Hey Art,
Go ahead and start my plexi with out the start button. As long as there
are no holes for the screws and no turbo box on a vewlix layout I’m good.
I’m a daytime gigolo catering to the blind. But business has been slow so I’m branching off with my other talents
But other than that, I’m a Software Engineer. I get to sit in front of a computer all day to debug and revise bad code that was done years ago. Needless to say, not the best environment for my creativity =P.
The thought of a big printer isn’t a bad idea. However, due to the lack of space in my apt and the financial drain from the laser cutter, it’s not gonna be a top on the list =). Not to mention I don’t know how often I’ll be getting print requests. While it’s going good right now, it’s hard to say if there would be enough prints to make up for a big printer and to continue printing. But if there’s a big boom in demand in the future, I’ll make sure to find ways of working things out… like hire a Chinese cousin to paint for $0.50 an hour ;).
Ah, gotcha. No sweat dude. No middle screw holes for you! =)
I will still take them and print and cut for you, that’s not the problem. As long as you’re aware that it could be slightly off and you might be left with a bit more edge. The templates floating around are Very close, but it’s just tiny tiny bit off. But the printers at kinkos (and other printers) also have a very slight variance on the print. So with both variances in play, your print tends to be slightly smaller and get a bit of the edging. So if the foreground is white, and the background is black, you’re gonna get a tiny bit of black edging. To compensate for this I usually stretch the image out a bit more to give it a little bleed space. But if there are very specific hole outlines, then I can’t do it so much. Now with the plexi applied, this is usually less to unnoticeable, but if anyone’s anal about those things this needs to be considered.
Also, because it becomes such a tight fit, I take a lot more time to try and position the cut so that it takes the least of the edges, or I try to even out the edges on both sides so it doesn’t look odd on one side. I don’t mind doing that, but if I have to do it too often, that’s a lot of time =P.
I need to update my FAQ to address this question, so thanks for reminding me.
You got it!
just making sure u got my payment and files? you responded to like everyone on this page cept my post up top haha
Are install instructions in the mail too? I received shipping email for it (yay), but just want to be clear (pun intended) on how to do it. I’m taking off the top, removing the ball, popping out the buttons, peeling the sticker then reversing this all for reinstall, right?
tracking on the USPS site says my package was delivered yesterday but I still havn’t gotten anything in yesterdays and today’s mail :crybaby:
Oh dang dude, you had a decent sized order too. Have you checked the perimiter of your home? It’s in a box that’s not going to fit your average mailbox so you won’t be seeing it there. Make sure you check with everyone in your household or any other place (like head of apt) to see if it might be there. Definitely check behind bushes and such if it’s to your house. I’ve had ppl say the postman hid it behind their house before.
Also double check the paypal address I sent to and make sure that address is correct. Keep me posted!
Ah my bad. I didn’t consider your post a question so while trying to address everyone quickly I didn’t see a question to answer. And if you got a confirmation email then you payment is received. I don’t have time to go through every order and confirm that again and send another email out to everyone. It’s automated so I just leave it at that.
Although now that I check you did have a question in your special notes. If I haven’t gotten back to you on that soon it’s because the special notes were meant for instructions that I later look at when I have a chance print out the orders. So I don’t get to questions in that section quickly. I check inquiries to my emails first. I’ve been having some ppl link their artwork to me in that section and it’s delayed their orders when they don’t respond to my artwork email.
But in terms of your question for adding another artwork. You can just add another artcut & print to the cart and choose “Local Pickup” so you don’t pay extra shipping. Then in Special notes, write that you’re adding to the first order#. Thanks!
Ah, sorry no instructions. I’ve been meaning to make a tutorial on that but haven’t had the time =(. But pretty much everything you mentioned is right on. Except when it comes to the sticker part, that’s up to you. If you’re referring to a HRAP, you don’t need to peel it off, you can just put it on top. If it’s TE, then you could peel the original artwork off since it’s easy to do and lessens your protrusion.
