Since my last post ( [Scratch built arcade stick ) I’ve gone through a very long learning experience/journey. The goal has been for a easy to build, minimalist, and great looking arcade stick frame – a modern take of the classic design. The result is this frame is 3D printed, laser cut, and assembled by hand:
I’ve gone through 3 complete redesigns to reach this point. Crystal clear everywhere, abrasion resistant top surface, thumbscrews for quick access, 3D printed corners, and black acrylic inside for awesome engraving possibilities.
It’s tough to take photos of highly reflective surfaces
Very impressive! The joystick screw holes not being countersunk and the top panel sitting lower than the frame are a little turn off for me at least, but damn that still is a mighty fine case you made!
Thanks for the great feedback! I’ll look into counter sinking holes in acrylic, I don’t have the hardware for that yet.
Also, you have a keen attention to detail. The top is normally flush but I left out the 1/8-inch abrasion resistant panel because I didn’t want to remove the protective film just yet:
Amazing Work dude : )
I’m totally impressed, overall by the simplicity of the idea.
Just one question please: where the h** can I find those tools you used to merge all those part, I’m talking about the black parts on the corners.
Thanks
I’m sorry dude, but I’m lost on his web page.
I’ have all the Plexiglas cut, screws and stuff, I only need this corner thing and cannot find it on any local store to buy.
Any direct link please…
What @appomo means is that the corner pieces were 3D printed, not purchased.
The builder was last active three months ago, so he may pop in again, but your best bet would be to send him a PM to see if he has the STL file. He might have e-mail notifications enabled.
Holy s***, It’s an amazing idea : )
Ok, so I’ll switch to a wooden one then, where I live, I cannot purchase anything online, need to have a friend there or invent things
Thanks for your concern, I’ll definitely switch for wooden one just find someone who can make a nice one, I was just impressed with those corners frame thing.
I was wondering if i could get a copy of the STL files too. I’m looking to use your design (or a similar design if I can’t get a hold of you) to make a case for my smashbox. Thanks.
