Acrylic and 3D printed Arcade Stick Frame

Since my last post ( [Scratch built arcade stick ) I’ve gone through a very long learning experience/journey. The goal has been for a easy to build, minimalist, and great looking arcade stick frame – a modern take of the classic design. The result is this frame is 3D printed, laser cut, and assembled by hand:

I’ve gone through 3 complete redesigns to reach this point. Crystal clear everywhere, abrasion resistant top surface, thumbscrews for quick access, 3D printed corners, and black acrylic inside for awesome engraving possibilities.
It’s tough to take photos of highly reflective surfaces :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope you enjoy

Very impressive! The joystick screw holes not being countersunk and the top panel sitting lower than the frame are a little turn off for me at least, but damn that still is a mighty fine case you made!

Thanks for the great feedback! I’ll look into counter sinking holes in acrylic, I don’t have the hardware for that yet.

Also, you have a keen attention to detail. The top is normally flush but I left out the 1/8-inch abrasion resistant panel because I didn’t want to remove the protective film just yet:

I still think that the top panel should go over side panels. Even if they’re flush, you’ll still feel that edge.

Open source the corners?

Can I Buy one from you?

How much was the 3D printing for this?

I’m highly curious about this. I’d love to see the STL file, but if you would like to monetize on it, I don’t have to. That’s a great design.

If I’m looking at this right, you basically only 3D printed the base, and then used plexi elsewhere?

Oh wait, I didn’t read the full post. OMG this looks so easy to make, why didn’t I think of simplifying everything like this on mine?

nice designs doods!

That’s really nice, good job.

We found your shop, bro.

Amazing Work dude : )
I’m totally impressed, overall by the simplicity of the idea.

Just one question please: where the h** can I find those tools you used to merge all those part, I’m talking about the black parts on the corners.
Thanks

"Acrylic and 3D printed Arcade Stick Frame"
there he got it.

I’m sorry dude, but I’m lost on his web page.
I’ have all the Plexiglas cut, screws and stuff, I only need this corner thing and cannot find it on any local store to buy.
Any direct link please…

Rgds

What @appomo means is that the corner pieces were 3D printed, not purchased.

The builder was last active three months ago, so he may pop in again, but your best bet would be to send him a PM to see if he has the STL file. He might have e-mail notifications enabled.

I also have STL files for a different style, but I could probably do some designs if someone wants to.

It’d be of a similar vein (3D printed corners), Acryllic cut panels, but not identical to this.

Holy s***, It’s an amazing idea : )
Ok, so I’ll switch to a wooden one then, where I live, I cannot purchase anything online, need to have a friend there or invent things

thanks guys for your support.

Email me: cuddleburrito at gmail or use the form here: www.cuddleburrito.com/make

I can get you the STL files and modify the holes for whatever fasteners you can source near you.

Thanks for your concern, I’ll definitely switch for wooden one  just find someone who can make a nice one, I was just impressed with those corners frame thing.

I was wondering if i could get a copy of the STL files too. I’m looking to use your design (or a similar design if I can’t get a hold of you) to make a case for my smashbox. Thanks.
