Did you guys read the freaking thread? The players that qualified said they wanted AC at EVO World. Seems to me like that invalidates the “oh, it’d be unfair to those that already qualified” argument. If that wasn’t actually all of the players that qualified, why not ask those that are left?

Voted AC and only posting because it said to.
I honestly can’t see a gathering or tournament happening for Slash after May 31st when AC is released. Unless of course Evo decides to stick with Slash so people may do some Slash events…but even then, once Evo is finished, I bet most everything from there after will be strictly AC. So why not make the move now rather than later?
I cannot picture someone having a Slash setup in the BYOC at Evo when everyone will already have AC. How many #R setups did you guys see last year? I never noticed any…

Getting OT here… I’ve said this before, but I think things are going to end in a stalemate (if you can call a SOLID MAJORITY a stalemate) on this issue until more people have played the game. We’re almost there, guys. It comes out THIS MONTH. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to play it already know how rad it is - please just freaking trust us.

wtf is a high damage setup? just answer the question. the question is is that Do the characters in accent core generally do more damage than in slash. no single character examples. just IN GENERAL.

There is more bs in accent core in my opinion. Characters in general do more damage in accent core in general in my opinion. i personally don’t like accent core. But the reason they shouldn’t use accent core for evo is because its not enough time for the casual gamer (not you hard core fools who’ve been to japan already or have hours on end to adjust to the major changes) to make the adjustment to the game. Hardcore players who got access to thuis game make up a small % of the people who will be attending evo. If you want to hold a tournament everyone will enjoy i think slash would be more appropriate.
p.s. the only tier lists that count is arcadia’s since its not based off opinion but tournament facts.

i was honestly indifferent. i said slash just cause it was newer but not stupid or broken. you showed me ky was stupid but not ky + 5 other characters were.
For those of you who are still wondering, yes, Chicago DOES have Accent Core. We’ve had it for a while now. It’s a bit of a “secret” location but yes, we do have access to it. And yes, Chicago will be able to compete in any AC tournament, given the time and opportunity to practice it.
If you really take a closer look, the major areas DO have Guilty Gear AC now (so “accessibility” isn’t a relevant issue). And the majority of the players that live in those Guilty Gear hotspots prefer AC over Slash.
I must admit that Chicago is a bit divided concerning Slash vs. AC at EVO, though (for example, ElvenShadow wants AC at EVO while Juicy G wants Slash at EVO). However, judging from current tournament results, Chicago is currently tops in GG right now, and it wouldn’t matter one bit which game is played. Juicy G is only concerned about the INTEGRITY of EVO (professionality and organization), that’s all.
In comparison, the “mighty” West Coast has fallen off the U.S. GG map. East Coast and the Midwest (especially Chicago) are in the spotlight now. Yes, “we” would like a healthy balance between “fun” and “balance”, but in the same token, both the Midwest and East Coast actually CARE about elevating their skill level and beating the Japanese, like koogy had mentioned earlier. I’m sorry to say this, C-Blue, but as an important face of West Coast GG, you MUST encourage everyone in the West Coast to do the same… to stay competitive with the latest game. West Coast needs a leader now more than ever, and you are one of those leaders.
In its current state, the WC scene of GG is in disarray, with its scene refusing to TRAVEL to major Guilty Gear tournaments in the Midwest and East Coast (where the current high level of play can be found). Your “dislike” for AC will further hurt the West Coast scene more than it will help, in my opinion.
And on a larger scale, it’ll only make the U.S.'s progress slower than it has to be.
one character being broken > 6 characters being broken? how does that make sense, adds a little variety imo. you say slash because it was newer, we say ac because it’s newer. ‘stupid’ and ‘broken’ are both opinion words unless this game is hokuto no ken. are you saying hokuto no ken since toki is really the only broken one that if they came out with a hokuto no ken 2 and had 6 broken characters instead of 1 where tournaments are TOKI TOKI TOKI TOKI, that we should use hokuto no ken 1 because only 1 character is broken?
They are only ‘tops in GG Slash’. Add slash in there because they are the only ones who play that shit game. I like my team over them any day but my team don’t like money matches so ElvenShittow can throw that idea out the window, but not let’s get into that and co-operate on getting AC into Evo =).

Again, remember that we’ve had Accent Core for a while… it’s not like Texas has a HUGE advantage… especially over Chi. Just because Chicago has been winning Slash tournaments lately, doesn’t mean it is totally clueless over Accent Core. That’s just terrible (and dangerous) hasty logic.
Meanwhile, Chicago’s Top 3 have been proving many people wrong lately… both in Slash AND Accent Core… perhaps you should just money match them at EVO and see for yourself.

I’ve already said that more characters have more damage options now. What’s your point? You dislike a game for making more characters viable, encouraging better defense, and rewarding good offense? Too afraid that some “random” guy is going to peace you out at Evo? This isn’t trash talk or anything, this is me wondering why more characters having the consistent damage output to be competitive is a bad thing.
Again, in AC, the better player still wins. All the new combos and stuff are just fancy window-dressing for the same core game and core skillsets that have always mattered.

I put AC because I would rather have an AC tourney. But looking at things from the TO point of view, I don’t think I could easily change it.
However, why don’t we just have an AC singles tourney at Evo main like we had a singles tourney at Evo main last time? I’ll even run the thing, so this time Phae won’t have to spend so much time with the brackets and can instead impress people with his May.
I sure hope AC has the option to choose Slash characters so it’ll be easy to practice up for Evo.
Because no one gives a shit about it because there’s so much money involved in the big tournament and usually the unofficial tournaments run late and are trash and people go gamble or shopping instead. =).
I’m afraid of losing to randomness…? how about we have a money match? Although i dont like accent core I still know how to play and compete in it. how about 100 bucks best of whatever.
