It’s pretty much evident that AC is gonna win. How much of a margin does AC have to win by for you guys to actually include it at Evo World? I’m asking because if it were about a 10-20 vote difference with AC as the victor, Slash would still be a viable option…

I do think that Slash should be at EVO for a few reasons:

Logically AND realistically speaking, 3 more days of Slash isn’t going to put us TOO far behind from the Japanese, considering some of us are already playing AC already anyway;

This situation isn’t the same as GGXX - > GGXX#R because the changes between those two games are MINIMAL. In GGAC, there are HUGE changes in game mechanics, physics, and properties, that 2-3 months to prepare isn’t really realistic to already jump into a “World Tournament” caliber of a tournament… considering the amount of money involved. This tournament should not be a lottery. Believe me, I’d pick GGAC like you guys, but GGAC is just too much of a radical jump from GGSlash.
These are only my opinions, to be taken with a grain of salt.

I disagree. Switching to AC is really not that hard. The mechanics really aren’t that different to veterans of the GG series, I don’t think it will take that much adjusting. It’s much harder to learn shit without training mode/only having arcade access. Once console hits I think people can make the switch very quickly.
As I said in the topic on Dustloop, the biggest kick in the pants is the characters you DON’T play and their offense possibly fucking you. For example, where I am there is no really good May player. I have SOME May experience but someone of lesser skill than me may end up winning just based on the fact that I don’t know her new offensive options and nobody to really practice against to learn how to defend against it.
Ill play that, hmm, how about 20 bucks 2/3 can run it back a few too.

And this one seems to be no exception AC is winning by a pretty large margin. My question is exactly how anal is that 90%. I assumed when I read it, it was being sarcastic, exaggerating, since 90% is a pretty ridiculous number…
So what is the more realistic number? I mean its already winning by a huge margin, seems to be its deffintly what the majority wants. Unless 90% was acctualy the truth, in what was wanted. And if that acctualy is the case I think thats pretty stupid. Cuz id be pretty suprised if you could find say lets say I dunno… Say having ST, over AE. You think that would win by a whopping 90%? Id say something like that would be pretty doubtfull…

Reason why I picked AC over Slash is because its a new game to enjoy. I’ll be attending EVO West and World. I can’t wait myself till AC comes out, should be fun learning all the new things the game has to offer.
I’m not saying it’s “difficult” to adjust. I don’t recall saying that at all. You are conjecturing at best, if not you misinterpreting what I’m saying.
A good majority of us have been playing Guilty Gear for 4, or even 5 years already (which includes myself) so “adjusting” shouldn’t be an issue. And again, most of us ARE already playing AC on arcade.
The point I’m trying to make is that Evolution is a world-class tournament. It’s the type of major event that’s supposed to be a “culmination” of previous, smaller tournaments. What you’re basically doing here is having some sort of a “championship” for a game that has barely even have credible tournaments for it in the U.S., much less defined tournament results AND U.S. rankings.
And now we’re supposed to award money and prestige towards top placers, using a game with pre-mature U.S. tournament results for it? This sounds like a lottery if you ask me… ESPECIALLY since GGAC is no where close to similar compared to GGSlash. You can make an argument for GGXX being similar to GGXX#R… but it’s not the case with GGSlash and GGAC.
I will repeat this again: We’re dealing with a LOT of money here. It is analogous to having an NBA Playoffs with only 20 games played in the season!
Again though, this is only my opinion, after dissecting the issue with logic and reason. As it stands, the majority is going to win, and whatever the “pro-Slash” say won’t even matter…

You know why people are doing that, right? The poll’s purpose is to get a head count of how many want Accent Core and how many want Slash. What exactly is wrong with following the rules, casting your vote and moving on with life instead of sticking around to play armchair tournament coordinator? Leave all that to Evo staff.
No hate though for Juicy G, Ukyo or Chaotic Blue, the arguments for Slash are obviously a lot more complicated than the argument for AC and in my book you’re fighting the good fight even if I don’t agree with it.

is it just me or do i really hate people who vote slash when their reason is “OTHER PEOPLE mightn’t get time to practice!”. Please don’t talk about other people, and just talk about yourself. If you didn’t enter the qualifiers, then plz mention nothing of the qualifiers and why it’s unfair.
I would love to vote for AC, but im not going to evo. It’s the funner game, though more “broken” in the sense that it’s quick and swift compared to SLASH. I personally don’t think broken is the right word, because every character has a fair chance of dealing retarded damage, it’s just that the matches end too quickly. Slash is just a slower paced game but i believe is betta at consistently predicting the better player, where AC’s results are a bit more random (due to high damage). Shrug just my two cents.
