Absolute Question and Answer Thread v.3 (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

Does anybody know the brand, model number and size of the monitors used in Japanese arcade USF4 cabinets?

NO.

Paradise sells a kit that includes cherries.

Yeah I saw the Cherry harness and actuator combo they sell but doesn’t say what size actuator it is in the info and also says the cherries make the same noise as the stock JLF switches.

I have a Madcatz TE FightStick circa 2009. Recently, the gate has stiffened up to the point that I’m having difficulty performing dashes, and I think a few of the buttons are starting to act up as well. Two questions:

[] Is there anything that I can do to the gate short of replacing it to loosen it up?
[
] If I end up replacing the gate and/or buttons, what site do you guys recommend I use?

Thanks!

I’d lube the stick’s pivot with Shin Etsu grease, Molykote 44, or whatever that stuff from Harbor Freight that @Moonchilde‌ has been recommending is called (it’s important that you not use the wrong type of lubricant), replace the Sanwa SW-68 microswitches in the buttons, and open/clean the microswitches in your JLF’s TP-MA pcb (I would recommend buying one since you’re already ordering parts). It would also probably be a good idea to buy a new JLF actuator and tension spring as well. Your stick should be good as new afterwards.

Awesome feedback thanks man. I just took the gate apart, cleaned all of the components thoroughly, and lubed them with a rubber-safe petroleum-based oil. HUGE DIFFERENCE. I sat in training mode for awhile looking at the inputs and didn’t notice anything wonky with stick, so I think I will stop short of replacing any of the stick components that you mentioned for now.

Any particular site that you would recommend for the SW-68 microswitches?

Cleaning a stick makes a huge difference. Proper care over the years goes a long way.

This is the stuff I’m using.

There is a silicone grease by them with teflon in it as well, but I have not tried it. I’m pretty happy with this stuff, however, I’m highly curious about the silicone grease with syncolon that they have.

I wouldn’t use anything petroleum based, rubber safe or not. In fact, I’d clean that stuff out pretty quickly. It’s possible that it’s ok, but not worth risking imo.

You can get the microswitches from the usual arcade parts suppliers (focus attack, paradise arcade shop, etc). They’re really cheap, you might as well go ahead and buy enough for all 8 face buttons. The other parts are all pretty cheap as well, the only expensive item I listed was shin etsu grease, a tube of which would last a really long time

Does anyone know if people are going to make any alternate plexi for the madcatz or hori ps4 sticks? I would buy them, but every stick out now uses the viewlix layout, and i sort of want the noir/sega layout

Mad Catz is making a Noir panel/plexi for their TE2 sometime in 2015.

that’s good to know, thanks.

So far, have there been any words from TeamNinja/TecmoKoei regarding PS4 compatibility for DoA5LR with their PS3 DoA5 Arcade Stick from Hori?

As far as I know from Sony’s PS4 FAQ, developers have the option to support certain peripherals within their games.
But in this case, looking at the recently announced PS4/PS3 DoA5LR stick, I guess it would interfere with Hori’s partnership.

Thanks so much!

Really off the wall, but I bought a used t6 stick and the battery cover is missing. My question, what would be a suitable replacement? Any 3d printers on srk?

Quick question what’s the go to small common ground xbox 360 controller pcb? Is it still the Mini Pro EX?

I’m trying to update my firmware for PS360+ on Mac but when I try to flash the pcb, I get this.

What do I do?

Have a 360 padhacked stick which responds correctly in menu, but does not work in certain games.
In P4A everything is fine.
In BlazBlue CT, only taunt and D work, directionals work fine. Everything works in-menu.
In KOFXIII, only LP works, and inputs binding LP with another only register as LP (i.e. LP+HP registers as LP).

Everything works in dashboard, and in menu for all games.
Everything works on PC.

Any ideas would be appreciated. The PCB is an older PDP, identical to their rock candy line.

I’d say. That’s my favorite.

Are you sure the .hex is in the same directory you’re running the command from?

does anyone sell custom arcade stick feet these days? I’ve seen threads long ago, but not lately.

The aluminum feet? those are PC case feet.
You can probability get them at whatever PC part store.
