I went to my local staples to get my art printed. They had no idea what I was talking about. What should I say? Also, what dimensions should it be printed out in?
I’ve read that sanwa OSBN buttons will not go into a TE stick because of the metal mounting plate for the joystick. Is that the only obstruction to putting OSBN buttons in a TE?
Slagcoin lists the vewlix layout as being too tight to fit OSBN buttons. I’m just curious.
Just one Button.
And Mad Catz does not use a true Vewlix Layout.
Not the being 8-Buttons, but actual spacing.
Hey there, this thread seemed the most appropriate place to post this.
The washer on my sanwa stick came loose, so I opened up my SE and glued it down. Unfortunately I got a little glue in the socket and had to take the whole thing apart to acetone and re-lube it. I used plumber’s silicone grease.
Now after cleaning and re-lubing it feels fine for a while and then starts to creak a little bit near the corners of the square. The creaky spot doesn’t really shift around, maybe that means it’s something other than the ball/socket itself. Also, my current dust washer setup is not flush up against the shaft like the stock parts so I guess some dust could be getting in there. However last time I opened it up there wasn’t much crud to be found, so /shrug.
My question is, what are the most common causes of a joystick gumming up like that? Exactly where in the assembly is lube supposed to go and what kind of lube is generally agreed upon to be the best?
A very curt summary! Sage-like.
I’m glad that I picked up my stick (TE) yesterday. It cost me ~120 USD or so. The throw is a lot less than what I had expected it to be, and people’s complaints about Sanwa buttons being too sensitive and squishy (in some threads) doesn’t seem to ring true for me at all! I can’t do fireball motions as well as I’d like to just yet, but I’m surprisingly much better at using this stick than my Intec (both modded and un-modded!) as the dead zone and throw are smaller and the stick is just - better.
I may end up getting a second TE - the used one that I posted about - just to mod (if it is not 100% in working order). I am most happy about this - I was hoping to save some money - but my hours are best spent on my current hobbies rather than picking up a new one.
Does anyone know what’s up with these? They’re completely clear balltops with very large bubbles, completely unlike a Seimitsu “clear” (purple-ish) balltop:
Apparently someone from China was selling them on eBay a while back? I am intrigued.
Yes, those from China.
I know that NIKING.NIKING sells them.
Well Seimitsu also has the non-purple before.
The new “purple” is the UV they having.
Huh! I guess I’ll order one then. They’re very cool looking.
Okay, so check it out… I want to cut 24mm and 30mm holes in a plastic case only a few mm thick. What would a good, cheap-ish tool for the job be? The only material I’ll ever use it on is thin plastic.
Would it just be all about getting 24mm and 30mm hole saw bits?
So I opened my stick again and it turns out that it was actually the plastic piece that rubs on the washer that was causing friction. I put some grease on the washer And we’ll see how long it lasts. Is the washer supposed to be greased or what? I used some pretty high viscosity stuff (silicone) because tri flow didn’t seem to change anything.
best to find Forstner bits in those sizes for best results…
You can get hole saws from Ace Hardware, and that will do the trick. 15/16" and 1 3/16" for 24 and 30 respectively.
Ace Bi-Metal Variable Pitch Hole Saw - Holesaws & Holecutters - Ace Hardware
and a pilot bit for that model.
Ace High Speed Steel Pilot Drill Bit - Holesaws & Holecutters - Ace Hardware
If you live close to a Woodcraft, forstner bits can be cheaper.
Buy Forstner Bit 30mm at Woodcraft.com
Buy 15/16" Forstner Bit at Woodcraft.com
Ace Hardware, xlnt.
Thanks, I’ll give those a try!
Quick Q the only reason why you mod a 360 stick with a chimp for a dual mod is so that you only have one cord?
Correct, the Chimp = PS3 chip + Imp/DPDT, in one.
The Chimp also auto-detects whether its plugged into a PS3 or 360 and switches over accordingly. Something an Imp/DPDT switch cannot.
just a quick question. for the seimitsu 32-02 stick on my se i have a square gate on it i want to switch to a 8 gate which one do i buy can all the gates be interchangeable???
Square is already 8-Way.
And there is not Octagon for LS-32(-01) you can buy.
You cannot use the Octagon available for LS-33, LS-55(-01), LS-56(-01).
ok good to know thanks allot!!!
hey super noob here. So i’m trying to get myself a new template for my Mad cats TE stick. I’m about to get it printed tabloid size landscape cut dem edges off. but for some reason the discontinue lami-label so wtf am i supposed to do instead of lami-label. Would regular lamination work? Thank you in advanced.
Regular laminate.
Then use Spray Adhesive from 3M or your favorite brand.
But why not get Custom Acrylic Panel from arthong?
