I recently ran into a problem with my Madcatz SE stick (modded with all Sanwa parts, mind you). The joystick doesn’t seem to respond at all now, as in when I move it nothing registers on screen. The buttons all still work, and I checked inside to see if anything was visibly wrong, to no avail. Any ideas on what’s causing this/how I could fix it? I’m pretty stupid when it comes to this shit, so any advice or help with this problem would be greatly appreciated, especially if it safes me the trouble of having to buy a whole new stick.
Switch set to RS and not DP?
^ Owned scenario if it is the case.
Happened to me once! =D
That’s definitely not the case, as I’ve double checked countless times just to make sure lol.
Wish it was that.
Then be easy.
Laugh.
So you unplugged and reconnected the Joystick?
Yea, I unplugged it and reconnected it multiple times. When I opened it up, I first found that the wire connected directly to the joystick was undone. I figured that was obviously what was wrong with it. So I hook it up again and figure I’m good to go. However the next morning I plug it in and try to play and the damn joystick still doesn’t respond what so ever. So now I really have no clue what the issue is at all.
EDIT: Ha, I just tried plugging it in again for shits and giggles, and now it decides to register directional inputs, but only one: down. Obviously, that’s not much use for playing a fighting game. This is pissing me off.
EDIT #2: Well I’m in luck I guess. I opened the case up for a third time and fiddled around a bit and now the stick works fine. So I guess I’m fine until this happens again. Thanks to you guys who offered advice!
So my local Staples doesn’t do Laminates with Adhesive backing.
But the shop next to it sells Adhesive spray. Would that work just as well?
And if so, how much would I need to apply?
This is for the Artwork on the stick, btw.
When only DOWN works, that means you have Connector upside-down.
Laugh.
Can I buy the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK and put a JLF GT-Y octo-gate without doing anything crazy?
Yea I know, it was silly that I didn’t realize that.
Sorry for the double post.
I don’t know if this should go here but I will ask anyway since I am a noob at this. Me and a friend Want to use our old busted first gen Xboxesas enclosures for our sticks but we were wondering if anyone had any experience with making a stick out of a console, especially this one. On a personal note I was wanting to know if anyone knew where I colud get a custom Bat-top made in the shape of a samurai sword hilt.
i have the same issue as Xgrayninja i tried turning the connector to the stick the other way and same issue. why is that
Anyone have the link to the fight stick comparisons? And info about the fight sticks.
These articles are a bit old but there is still a lot of useful info:

For more specific information for almost every stick in existence:
hmm cant seem to find the size of the madcatz SE in any of these =(
I was looking for one that is a thread here
Figured this ought to go here, it’s been forever since I’ve been here…whoops. Have there been any attempts at padhacking a SFIV Fightpad PCB for a 360-compatible custom stick, and if so, was it well-enough documented that somebody else (like me!) could repeat the process? I’ve got an Xbox 360 Fightpad sitting around collecting dust and am looking at starting a personal multiconsole custom stick. It would be preferable if I could padhack it to use the PCB I already have instead of having to buy another controller just for its PCB.
I’d rather use the Fightpad since I really rarely ever use it. I guess I could gut my 360 Hori EX2 but it was my first…
i try this method and the same issue happens. can someone please help? i have yet to get any answers
