Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

I am the proud owner of a recently purchased Madcatz TE Fightstick Pro (PS3), and, although I am mostly loving it, I would like to customize a few things already.

  1. I like the Square restrictor gate since I play Guile and his clones religiously in Street Fighter, but these days I play *Ultimate *almost exclusively, so I would like to ask: What replacement circular/round gate would you reccomend I get, where should I buy it, and where’s a good video on how I can replace the gate so that I don’t break this very, very expensive stick? I’ve seen Sanwa parts for $5, but since I already bought a top-of-the-line stick, money has stopped being an object. I would like the best.

and

  1. Would there be any easy way to switch between the two gates? Or will I just have to do it the hard way every time I want to switch them, or are the customizations permanent?

  2. Is there a replacement part I can buy or modification I can do or have done that will make the ball top stop spinning? I find it harder to maintain a good grip on the stick that way when sweat is involved (and yes, I do hold my stick correctly.)

GT-C restrictor

Tighten it on more with a screwdriver when you next open up your stick.

Thanks. And that Sanwa part he’s mentioning is standard on TE, just like everything else on TE is Sanwa, right?

Also, I have no doubt in your opinion, but what makes the GT-C superior?

Who said anything about any gate being superior?

The GT-C is the only circular restrictor you can get for a Sanwa JLF joystick, that is why I mentioned it.

None really. You’d be better off just dual modding. Sorry

Ah, well that makes sense. Thanks.

its a dark secret known to those in the inner circle

I tried to join the inner circle, and only thing I got offered was to be turned onto a werewolf.

I know the secret recipe, I am not betraying this trade secret, but I will give a hint.
When you find out what it is, it be obvious. Keep in mind tech flex is made of smaller strands.

There aren’t actually any wires inside the techflex. You need to use a conductive pen to draw traces on the inner wall, then solder exit wires to them on each end. Be careful soldering to the techflex, as it is sensitive to heat and can be a bit flaky taking the solder.

haha! Don’t do that… Sorry guys I had already answered this one…

Replace the USB cable?? I tried using the connector from my wired 360 controller and it still doesnt work.

That is replacing the Breakaway.
That is not where your problem is.
The problem is down lower of the Breakaway; replace the USB.

As I said, dude - replace the USB cable.

Hey guys!
It’s possible to change the rim of the 30mm Sanwa (OBSN) screw-in buttons?

yes…

I have a stick that I tried dual modding with cthulu pcb and gamestop pad pcb. It works fine on ps3 but when I plug it into an xbox the pcb lights up for a second and then it doesn’t register. What might be wrong?

You need to have something that controls the USB cable.
Uses either a DPDT Switch, or install and Imp v2.

Or have two USB cables hanging out.
One more PlayStation 3, one for Xbox 360.

Okay, this may just be me being paranoid, but I noticed that the microswitches on my Seimitsu buttons appear to be off-color:

Is this normal, or are these things beginning to rust? ._.

I think that’s the electroplating wearing off from QD insertion/removal. Nothing to worry about.
