Absolute Question and Answer Thread (ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!)

Do any of you guys know where I can get a TEasy Strike from? They are sold out on the Phreakmods site and I have no idea when they will be back in stock. Help would be much appreciated.

I plan on getting a drill to make a hole for the Cthulhu board, as well as for my Mayflash, should I invest in something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004T80S?ie=UTF8&tag=craetive-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B00004T80S Considering I don’t need a heavy duty one since I don’t plan on doing anything home improvement wise.

I think they are out of production for a while.

You’re best off asking phreakazoid himself.

I’m in no rush I was just wondering if they were sold elsewhere. Thanks.

Again, ask the main man himself about other suppliers.

I have a few ‘S’ models myself, but I only post to verified UK addresses.

I have a Madcatz Arcade Stick TE-S. Does anyone know what size the 6 screws on the top panel are for these sticks? I’ve lost one which I’d like to replace so I’ll most likely have to buy 6 of them to match them up.

M3 is the size. Not to sure how long they are. Probably M3x10

Thanks man, will measure when I get home.

M4 x 12mm actually.

whats up guys, so with the release of sfxt comin up and the xbox’s lack of 5 additional characters (complete bs, but thats not the point of this post), i figured i should pick up the ps3 vers of the game. however, my stick is a madcatz 360se and i need a little help with the mod.

from other posts and the stickied 101 tutorial, i’ve decided to use the chimpsmd since it seems the easiest and most efficient route. from what i’ve read so far, i’ve gathered that the following is what i need to do, abbreviated without specifics

  1. cut usb cable coming from 360 pcb
  2. strip both ends. the end coming from the xbox pcb goes into a chimp terminal. the end leading to the console goes into another chimp terminal
  3. wire the buttons, stick, and home/guide, to chimp

it ends up looking somethin like this, excuse my bad (or badass) paint skills, where the red wires are what i add and the blacks are what already exist

does this seem right so far? i’d hate to buy everything, do it wrong, and end up something broken and then end up having to solder something

obviously the wires have to be in the correct terminals, but where do the ground wires for the buttons go? i figured that they would all go into the chimp, but there are only 2 ground connections on the terminal for the buttons. since everything is common ground, i figured i should just daisy chain all the grounds.

i also see a usb jack on the chimpsmd, what is this used for? i feel like i’m missing something.
the last question i have is where am i supposed to put the chimp? i looked inside the se and i don’t see any place where i could mount the chimp without it banging around, and i really don’t want it just hanging loose.

thanks guys

oh and i’m sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but the title of the thread has ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE in bigass caps with an exclamation point and i didn’t want to make an unnecessary thread

I recently bought a Madcatz SF TE Round2 (just yesterday) and I’m dropping the 360 pad. Well I know the transition from pad to stick won’t come overnight and I’m gonna have to do a lot of practicing to get my inputs on point…however I’m having a bit of trouble doing qcf input… More when I’m facing the left side (player 2 side). The guy I bought the stick from threw a bat top in it for free and I’m thinking of changing the ball top to the bat top as this is what I was used to back when I played mvc and mvc2 in the arcades.

Well my question is… Does the bat top make inputs become a tad easier than a balltop? Or do I just need to do more practicing?

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only 1 who has felt like this after changing from pad to stick. Thanks!

You do not have to do anything to the Mad Catz Turbo Panel.
Everything you want in that Panel is on the main Xbox 360 PCB.

The USB Jack on ChImp SMD is just another Outgoing USB point.
You can use a USB B-USB A in a Custom Arcade Stick, instead of using Screw Terminal.

In a commercial Arcade Stick like a TE being modified, it is cooler to cut the stock cable.
Then use the Screw Terminals, but can still do the USB Jack if want.

So I ordered the WWE Brawl Stick + Sanwa Stick/Buttons and I need to get my art printed before they arrive.
I don’t live in the US so Kinko’s is not an option. I found a very decently looking print office where I live though so I need some opinions on what I should ask for when I go there. English is not the native language in my country and I have no idea how to translate lami-label to them. Here are some of their offers which I think are the ones I’m looking for:

Placing the adhesive backing and laminating

Placing the adhesive backing (MacTac PP-2018) on non adhesive media (1000 and 1530 mm width)
Glossy / Matte transparent PVC foil 80 microns (700, 1000 and 1400 mm width)
Glossy / Matte with UV-protection 80 microns (1040 and 1370 mm width)
Glossy / Matte laminate 3M Luster/Matte Overlaminate (914 mm and 1372 mm width)
Floor mat / Gloss laminate 125 microns (1040 and 1370 mm width)
Floor glossy laminate MacTac PF-6000 380 microns (940 and 1295 mm width)

I just got a ls-32-01 in. I custom fit a sanwa octagonal restrictor plate on it and I wired it to my paewang pcb. the wires are in the right spot, solders are beautiful, but whatever direction I put the ground on all of the joysticks go in that direction. If I put it on down every direction goes down. I tried putting it on a button ground and the joystick didn’t work. I’m using a wiring harness and it’s acting like it is un-common ground but that can’t be the case. Any ideas?

Wire for Ground on the Wire Harness is actually Orange.

do you mean that i should just bypass them altogether and not run any wiring between the panel and the chimp? I would like them to work when i’m playing on a ps3 and i was under the impression that you needed to run an extra set of wires from everything to the chimp. the pdf from the godlike controls website also seems to say that i need to connect a whole separate set of wires

ChImp SMD to main Xbox 360 PCB only.
You do not have to do anything with the Turbo Panel.

had the grounds and signals crossed, whoops.

Indeed.

ok now im really confused lol. so basically, what it seems like is that all i have to do is run a set of wires from the xbox pcb to the chimp smd? if the turbo panel wires are not necessary, then i would assume the same applies to the buttons and the stick as well. so the new set of procedures is as follows:

  1. cut usb coming from xbox 360 pcb
  2. one end goes into chimp, one comes out
  3. finished

this seems a little too simple to believe…
