It’s kind of odd but I feel comfortable in tournaments that have no entry fees yet were playing just to see how good we truly are without the pot money motivation. I espiecally felt more relaxed when I came up to Reno when ya guys threw in the no entry tournament after the Saturday tourney.

I’m really hoping to get some time off either late October or early November so I can play ya guys again at Atlantis. I’m still practicing with Dizzy on GGXX alongside coming back to CvS2 with my Haohmaru, Nakoruru A-groove team. SvC Chaos…well I mainly use Shiki, Genjuro, Kyo, and Demitri yet Shiki is the one character I use the most despite the game being so broken. I’ve played Samurai Shodown 5 and at least the gameplay is better on that game then SvC Chaos. I’m just hoping that Playmore can get their act together but I don’t know.

Otherwise I’m still experimenting a lot of stuff on Dizzy and all that good stuff that I’ll be using when I do come on down.

Aight… it seems that tourney isnt as favorable as Paul thought it would be…

Fri-Sat nights… starting at 9pm-Whenever…

anyone that is interested in practicing at my house can just come over as long as they CALL AHEAD…

Whats gonna happen is this…

Starting at 9… those who come over will either play GGXX or CvS2 or whatever seems favorable among everyone thats here…

but unlike what we’ve been doing in the past at my place… I suggest that we critique each other’s game after each match…

Yea… yea… I know thats gonna take a while… but this is why Im suggesting it…

First… It’s gonna make the players have to think when they fight… cause at the end of the match everyone in the room including u’re opponent is gonna tell ya… what u did right and wrong… and most importantly how to improve your game…

Second… It’s gonna make those who arent playing to really look at the match more carefully and see whats going on… see if they really understand why each player played they way they did… and also how they think the player should play their game…

Finally… Since everyone is gonna participate in the discussion… we’re gonna get more feedback that means each player can improve on his game and everyone thats watching can understand the style…

But there is a bonus… after eveyone is done w/ their comments… the player can then explain what he did… and why he did it… this does several things…

First… It allows the player to explain his actions good and bad… and secondly… maybe the player was trying out and it didnt work as he planned… and everyone can understand why he did it… thats means when ure playing … U BETTER BE THINKING …

oh yea… it also allows everyone to be on an equal playing field…

Now … Im not saying everyone must show up at my place at 9…

If u wanna go to the Atlantis or CC etc… u can… If u wanna show up at 11 thats cool…

But those who wanna get a early start its cool for them too…

Imma try to always be here from 9 on…

CAUTION… if we do this… we are critiquing the way the player plays the game… I dont wanna hear insults… or bitching… everyone is entitle to their own opinion but u are not entitled to belittle anyone…

saying u sux… ure a scrub… dont play this game… will not be allowed…

Im wondering what u guys think… YAY??? NAY??

For right now… i think we should just stick w/ CvS2 and GGXX cause I think everyone has played enough to understand whats going on… if people like it and its sucessful… then we might branch into other games…

who knows… hehe…

Yes yes yes!!! Finally you understand!!! More console play and more learning…I don’t want to go to the Atlantis because I don’t play GGXX, I don’t want to play SC2 but I REALLY don’t want to play a broken CvS2 machine so I just end up wasting my time on SC2 and crazy MvC2…

Other than that, I say that this is what I’ve wanted all along…this is a very good idea and it’s the only one out there that I support 100%…

what rob said :cool: and when i say bi-weekly and a monthly, this equals 2 tournaments. one in middle of month (like say… 3rd weekend of month) and then the first weekend of every month is the monthly. and just to make it intresting, why not have it so top 2 finishers of the japanese style tournament get seeded in the monthly :open_mouth: nice idea rob anyway peace

This reminds me of something I read in somebody’s report of a trip to Japan that I saw on VFDC. The guy mentioned that people talk a lot more in the arcades there… analyzing the matches. He said that some guys might only play 3 or 4 games a night, but sit and talk about games a lot.

I think this sounds like a good direction. I’m gonna have to get GGXX so I can be part of this. I’m probably gonna have to put the stiffer spring back in my MAS so I can use Robin’s sticks… dammit.

Paul just sounds more confusing day by day. Anyway, I like the idea. The reason being is the fact that Rob and me did this before B5, and got to know how both of us felt towards each others gameplay and character. We learned from what both of us actually said to one another and applied it in B5. Unfortunately Rob didn’t follow what he preached and ended up not doing as well as he could’ve. Anyway, this is probably the one thing that was totally missing this year. Me and Rob did it again in Evo 2k2, and I was disappointed that we didn’t this year (not enough time, and with Rob’s mom being here for the last month became a critical point really). If you guys are willing to learn what your guys’s mistakes are, and ready to be criticized for what you’re doing, then don’t need to think about it, and just do it. I’m down to whoever criticizes me about my character. You guys can tell me what I did wrong in every game, and I’ll take it. That’s how it is, and that’s how it should be. I want everyone and I mean everyone to do this really. Get a crowd going, cause once you learn 1 game and pretty much learn the basic idea, you can apply it to any fighting game you can or will play. It’s just simple as that.

Why not try and get someone to take these peep’s that doesn’t have transportation, to go to Rob’s house. Just wondering since, well, if you guys want to have a scene, someone has to be willing to bend over backwards…nm that’s not the right word atm since Rob might look for someone BENDING over (:lol: hahaha). Anyway, yea, someone just help em out so that this scene can grow and stuff. But the problem is, is Rob going to be able to handle (damn it another ghey remark) at least 12 people being in his house (how come this never sounds right anymore), or how loud everyone can be (again, doesn’t sound right) without getting any complaints from his neighbors. Well just my thought on that, talk to ya’ll later.
