It’s not just you guys but I also get a bit upset when I totally mess up on certain stuff that could very well give me the win as well. Nowadays when I do look at my mistakes that I am doing, I’m attempting to not make those mistakes most of the time and hopefully become a better player in due time.
My main weakness I have to say is players that can turtle very well since I am a rushdown player. I’m getting a lot better on SvC against most players that do use turtle tactics and take advantage of their mistakes.
Well anyways weekday tournaments IMO are much better ever since I most likely don’t have weekends off.
The Tourney was pretty fun, even though I choke big time angaist Cam in my last match at SC2. Good job Cam, even though I totally dominated you, you never gave up and cameback big time! Yeah, I think you should definitely split up the tourneys. Like have Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and SC2 on Friday nights, and have GGXX and CVS2 on Saturday Nights. Cause of what I heard, SC2 tourney didn’t end till 3AM!!! The tourney started at around 11, so it took aronnd 4 hours to finish a tourney. Oh well, I got to take John’s advice and stop buttom mashing at SC2, even though I’ve been successfully good at it. I’m interested in learning how to play GGXX and CVS2 better, so expect me to be asking questions and stuff. Damn Nick Jr., you won again, why would it be the worst tourney for you? I’m glad you’re retiring your Ivy, looking foward to our Taki VS. Taki matchups.
Rob: I just hated that tournament. =/ It smelled funny in there large in part to SM. and my game was just fucking weak, and I really think my Ivy is tired. After you left, Nick pulled an amazingly boring move and picked Yoshi, in which I had NO idea what to do. In the end I won, but it really got me to thinking that I just really don’t want to play anymore. My Ivy is resorting to turtling, and thats dumb.

On the SC2 tourneys if I do get back into that game my pick is most likely Xianghua. I’m only decent with her but it’s the only character that I do really know.
I’m down with weekday tourney’s. Oh wait EQ…nm. 1 thing I hate about weekend tournies is that we start out way too damn freaking late. Sorry Paul, but 9:30 is just too damn freaking late for a tourney. And with that, it ends up getting finished around 2am (like this weekend). I’m down with weekday tourney’s really, don’t mind what I said above. I just like to make Robin mad about that :).
As for the comment about me being tough on what happened. Don’t worry, that’s the last time I’m doing that. He said sorry, so that’s fine. But it doesn’t matter to me. Well I’m going to try to see if I can make it to one of the Reno’s tournaments in October. Mainly because I am practicing up for the N-Cube tournament in November.
Well, if we start tournaments around 8:00, that’s 2 hours. You could get about… 25% done with the bracket by the time that person got there, but then what would the rest of the people do? O_o

What up, the tournies at 8 would be a wonderful idea. I am now quiting the SC2 scene forever. My yoshi is better than this maxi, mainly because for some reason i just cant hit the right moves when i want to and im sick and tired of that. i simply can not do it in comp. In practice i pull off amazing crap with stance changes and delays …so i will only be playing GGXX, my axl has gotten a lot better even since the tourny so look out. My goal is to beat rob A good, hard, and noble goal for me. JC…i still cant touch you 0_0 Everyone else i can at least do a LITTLE bit of damage but with you i get dominated…but i think i may i have a way to counter your pressure…i play a poke and pressure axl so that clashes big time with your style. Hmm, anywayz, is there anyway one of you could show up at the atlantis toniight? I need to try some of this shiat out.
BPC the thing is me and paul work till atleast 9-930 whenever we do work so its really hard to do tourneys when the tourney guys arnt there =-P but i work monday tuesday and thursday paul works thursday friday and sat.
Also along with you not being able to touch me its because im a gangster :lol: j/k you just need to practice more. Plus ive played a real lot so i know a bit about most characters arsenal but hey maybe wednesday i can meet you at atlantis and hopefully i can learn you on a little and umm ask paul about match videos and stuff he has all that kinda stuff that will help you alot

Anyway, yea I won’t say nothing about the “Empire” again in this thread. I was surprised you said that instead of bashing me in for EQ. Anywho, whatever on the tourney I guess. Reason why I stated the reason why we can’t hold weekday tourney’s was because of school. Weekend is good but can’t just have it start on 9:30 every single time, unless you have at least 2 machine going simultaneously and runing a 2 out of 3 matches. Solution, if we put it on 9:30 again, it has to be 1 game double elime or 2 out of 3 single elim. This is the only solution that we all can come up with, unless you guys start the tourney early. That’s it.
One question I would ask to people attending the tourney is what time they would like it to be done, for me I don’t work on Sunday so it’s not a big issue, but staying up till 2:15 in the morning is really not desirable either. It can make a big difference in the amount of time a tourney takes to finish when we’re running multiple tournies and people enter all of them, often times you’re waiting for one person to get finished and by the time they are done their opponent has already begun another match on a different game. In that case we have to reduce the amount of tournies being run at once. The game that could get dropped is cvs2, it still doesn’t have working controls on the 2nd player side, never will. Just like Paul told me they were gonna move GGX2 to the big screen :lol: The game also takes a long time to play even at one game. Then we would still have 3 games running and I believe that would still be a time strain. If we split games to certan days I’m not sure if people want to to show up both Friday and Saturday night. Thinking back to when we ran GGX2 tournies only, we still were getting out of there pretty late. I don’t know if people would want to go one game in GGX2, I like 2 out of 3 personally but maybe we could make every match 2 out of 3 even the finals to speed things up. Paul figured out how far we could go with one person missing from the bracket and it’s about 25%. That’s my input on the situation, I don’t want our tourney scene to die and we need to address other issues as well like good sportsmanship and helping each other get better.
I think JP has the best possible answer. We can still run all the tournaments simultaneously, but we have to cut it all down to single elimination. It makes it more quick, and less stress.
I’m up for anything… but if we want the scene to grow, we should really stick with double elimination. If nothing else, just start earlier. Make certain games [coughcvs2cough] 1 game, double elimination. But let’s start tournaments at 8:30. This will shave off the entire first round + half the other matches. Really, it will speed up tournaments atleast by an hour.

for GGXX i think it should be double elim 2 outta 3 still…OR make matches 3 wins need single elim 2 outta 3
