This is about the female concept character design to Abel. I think it’d be brilliant if she could make an appearance in USF4.
#AbelConceptCharacter is about getting said female character in to the game; this young and streetwise, ponytailed female fighter who in many ways resemble Makoto, and to use the very same moveset as Abel, where her avatar occupies the “?” spot currently located underneath Elena and Poison to the far right, with the “?” random-select being moved to the right of Elena.
I think it’d be fine if she had different stun and health values, though, and were in addition to skin-swapping her with Abel and adding four costumes to her, also added a single-player storyline mode where she trained with Abel.
I’ve sent Yoshinori Ono several tweets, and I’d like you to join if you feel this is a good idea. It’d fulfill the fantasy of how Abel and SF4 would feel with this alternate character design instead, it’d “add a new character” like how MK and KI do, and it’d generally breathe new air into USF4.

Actually the old Abel concept was supposed to be a boy regularly mistaken from a girl from everything I’ve read. I can’t say it’s accurate but that’s what I’ve always read. Personally I think Abel’s moveset using that cute style character would have been cool. That said, it wouldn’t have worked with his storyline of the Seth clone/robot/whatevers. I’d love the idea if they took the concept art and made it into a grappler. Only other female grappler is the overly sexed Mika.
Replacing Abel would be a little lame, but like making a new grappler using that char design would be cool.
Totally. Abel and Makoto share a lot of similarities in their fighting styles, and I personally much prefer the earlier concept design for Abel, as she not only looks adorable but also looks like she could have some interaction with Makoto.
Abel has had a decent run since SF4 in 2009, but it’s 2015 now and Abel hasn’t proven to be particularly popular, and with some he is actually unpopular.
There is one spot open in the character select screen if you count the “?” random select. #AbelConceptCharacter could occupy that spot, with her using Abel’s moveset, and being afforded 4 alternate costumes as if she’d been present since 2009’s SF4.
The “?” random select could simply be moved to the right of Elena…
This would cost Capcom just a new character model and 4 additional costumes and voice casting, but it would greatly please (IMO) the SF player base.
Although, I certainly wouldn’t mind a more unique moveset for her.
It’s too late to want more characters added to SF4. The game is on its way out with SF5 on its way. You’d be much better off asking for her to be in that one.

She comes off as a shoe-in in SF4, but not necessarily SF5. Besides that, I think a lot of SF fans are a little heartbroken about Abel being conceived instead of the cute female Abel… I think her inclusion would make the game completely whole.
