It’s not even about Drill being bad… it’s about the notion that players can’t tell the difference between two moves, when one of them freezes the screen, and starts up some wild animation before it comes out.
Yeah I knew that was the real issue it’s just it’s stupid to even bring up headbutt drill because it’s not even like that move is a factor. Might as well just not do the headbutt drill and say the Ultra is tricky tricky.

Able play the same. Faster (better frames) normals though. U2 is MAD FAST. Can grab Sagat when he does a High Tiger Shot.
Able grab command comes out like ‘butter’ (what ever that means).
Abel’s falling sky is an anti air move (really good one too)

Falling sky is an awesome AA now. Ex will almost always grab from the air (the only time I got hit so far was balrogs j.hk when it was mad deep)

Ultra 1 damage scale SUCKS. It’s horrible now if you do j.anything hp cod fadcy cr.fp ultra

Corner ultras are WEIRD. I did it on balrog and if you COD in the corner they go to high to quickly do the ultra 1. You actually have to wait a bit. (however I hit FP Cod a hell of a lot easier, which means 1 of 2 things his COD is faster OR they land in a higher juggle state)

Ultra 2 is fast… really fast… but anything that has armor break can beat it (If you use this ultra to counter another ultra you will lose) It’s really safe (sometimes it’s safer to let the ultra go than to cancel it no joke) and can punish mad moves (dictators cr.hk reversal punish)

The most important thing I learned is corner ultras… they’re fucking stupid now… You guys will find out when you get to play

i played a bit of ssf4 abel , here is some thinks I (think I ) noticed.
skyfall is buffed.
From what i could seed the ex version did not trade and came out faster.
they normal skyfall actually seemed worse( i tested it on bison jumpin and i lost everytime )
cr.hk is better. Im not sure if its really that much faster but the range is definately increased. where in vanilla it would often whiff it now hits.
ultra 2 is fun you can do trick ppl into jumping since you can hold it and even cancel it ( you lose your ultra bar ofcourse ).
If you opponent is really close to you they can just jump over you.
Still thinking of new ways to use this ultra. Off course certain characters can evade it with special moves.

akuma teleport ( you can might be able to catch him if you cancel the ultra though )
also i think it would be hard to use a against character with large jump arcs.
However i think as time goes on ppl will find more ways to deal with it. But ultra 2 is definately a good second ultra if you compare it too some of those trash ultras other chars got
overall i felt his normals where a little faster but i cant confirm it untill i do more testing
Ultra 2 has always looked like gimmicky nonsense to me… except for maybe a couple of match-ups.

Nah, i think Ultra 2 will become really really good.
It looks like the ultimate move punisher. I dont see why some people are thinking of using it randomly all the time. It will probably make opponents even more afraid to reversal. And I keep hearing how it will ‘only work for a few weeks until people are used to it’. Use it to punish mistakes, its even faster than ultra 1. Don’t just use it in the hope of someone deciding to neutral jump when you activate or some shit. Or how they can just armor break you, you’re just asking to for trouble if you do this against someone competent.
It can punish things that ultra 1 can’t. And should be really good especially as an unscaled ultra which at full bar does ridiculous damage.
E.g > blocked 1st hit of a buttsplash? Ultra 2. Just delay it. Im thinking you could probably punish every form of headbutt with it. And im sure theres a lot more scenarios aswell
Anyway you get the idea, i think it will be really good, especially with hearing how badly damage scaling affects ultra 2 now (thanks cowman)

COD can still get reversal SRK. (I didn’t check all of them though so maybe FP is safe but I doubt it.)
Normal roll avoids reversal uppercut after cross up MK! no need to waste meter.
Edit… after blocked step kick reversal srk beats normal roll.

New ex failing sky is pretty godlike tested it on Honda and Ryu’s jumping HP and sometimes it beats em clean and if its really meaty sometimes their hp just whiffs and no one gets hurt? I regret to inform you that they have not fixed hondas hitbox so f.mk st.hp don’t work against him all the time. EX falling sky also seems to be beating meaty honda neutral jump hp CLEAN

I find the command grab to be more annoying. At least the part where you can’t tell the difference is not as bad as Blanka’s new ultra.
