I’m really not sure about a faster sweep, it looks identical to SF4 to me. Hmm I’m hoping they haven’t made any nerfs to Abel’s stamina.

he will be good regardless, he has a good rushdown and his bad match ups have been nerfed and are now playable Ex gief and gen

Got to play Super Street Fighter Abel yesterday… his Fierce roll seems faster… the sweep feels the same to me. ULTRA II is mean but he can be jabbed out of it…but if you try anything else…YA DONE!

Did you notice any significant changes to his stamina?

People have been claiming his health has been nerfed / beefed up, can you confirm?

Seems like easy to counter the Abel’s Ultra 2… Is it just me? just feel it take ages to “attack” from the “parry mode” for Ultra 2…

I still like the first Ultra better. It counters and combos.

maybe U2 will have its use against characters like feilong,gief,chun li,ect. but im majorly doubting that we will be using it more than ultra 1 so dont worry

Hm, speaking of ultras, i wonder if the damage for Ultra 1 will be reduced, seeing as there’s been a damage reduction with the ultras in the game. If so it’s goodbye massive damage ultra combos :frowning:

Does anybody know about any changes to Cr. HP? I think everybody was hoping for the range of the second hit to be increased so that it doesn’t wiff on most cross ups.
Would be a definite bonus for me.

I didn’t notice anything significant about his health. They wouldn’t dare bump him to 1100 and 1000 would be too soft for him.

Didn’t notice this either but isn’t that dependant on the character your facing’s hitbox?

Can’t believe I forgot this…Seth mentioned that the one hole in Abel’s arsenal has been bettered…Falling Sky is now a “better” anti-air option. IFthey lowered his stamina to 1000 this is probably why.

Abel is already at 1100.

I understand the doubt…but yeah, he told me directly…I was trying to get as much info out of him without being annoying. Asked him about a safer COD (hope) but he sidestepped a little so I backed off. I asked about falling sky and he was happy to say a better anti-air option now.

I hope no one is thinking that I mean it’s his BEST option he only said it’s a BETTER option than BEFORE.

My bad…I was thinking stun. Then take what I said earlier just add 50 in regards to stamina (if nerfed/powered up at all).

Hmm, interesting, a better anti-air. But man, why S-kill sidestepping, should have kept at it man :wink:

I want to know the tweaks to his normals, if any. Damn, wont be weeks until the blog on the sf4 newcomers.

So it looks like capcom really are paying attention to the SF community when it comes to SSF4 changes…

However, buffing falling sky ?? that actually seems pretty odd to me.

Abel already has 2 strong anti air’s (c.fp / c.mk) and falling sky is far better suited for people jumping away from you - after f.mk pressure for example . A faster sweep would have been a much more welcome change.
