Well Abel is not wearing a a snow board shoes or anything else, those are shin protectors used in Sambo and his 2nd outfit remind me to Rocky IV’s training scene when Ivan Drago is running he wears one of theese.Remember that Abel is not a wrestler, he is a mixed martial artist (sambo and judo) so his 1st outfit show that well.
Since reading the SFIV comics and seeing that he was a Merc, I wanted him in a merc costume, so I’m buying. SQUEE!
those are shin guards are attached to shoes and due to those bulky whatever you call them they look stupid
I actually thought those shin guards were the only cool thing about Abel alt 2.

I’m guessing that I’m one of the only people who only likes Abel’s normal outfit, but just in different colors. I think the martial artist-esque clothe and leg guards(?) look cool. Changing the color just makes it better. If anything, I’d just like a purple color for his normal outfit, preferably with some combination of red, white, or black if you have to keep the color of his shorts different.
I think the his wrestler-like outfit is ugly, and I’m not a fan of his “Solid Abel” outfit. Purple standard suit, please! =}
I usualy have standard outfit in either black or white, and I like the standard blue,too. Silly question, but are the other colors unlockable by time challenges, or survival?

Well, he has a goatee in his 3rd alt. Fuck the fact that he has a faster sweep, dude’s rockin’ facial hair.

I remember reading somewhere that there was something done about the abel vs. zangief matchup. anyone know anything about this?
larriat doesnt hit crouching opponents
That’s only a minor help to the matchup though. Zangief footsies and pokes will still outclass Abels’.
thats major, his pokes are better but thats not the reason the match up is so bad.with larriat he limits your wake up options
No, really, lariat is a very small part of what makes the matchup so bad. You can TT/Marseilles roll out of lariat on wakeup. Watch some Abel vs. Zangief vids and you’ll see the main issue is at mid range, Abels’ ‘sweet spot’ for most other characters, Zangief just obliterates him with his fast, high priority normals, all of which have more damage and range than Abels’.

yeah but that is part of his mixup game if u backdash or jump>u eat a larriat,u block>SPD or cross up.the match up isnt to bad(6-4) intil you get knocked down then Abel turns free…
