nothing against the dude for making that but the video presents a lot of misinformation and is flat out wrong about a lot of things, I honestly feel like a player new to abel would be better off not watching that video and just messing with him themselves(or better yet, reading abel thread here)
examples:
falling sky is not ever to be used as anti air
his bnb is close to correct but he does too many chain hits scaling it(not such a big deal)
he thinks stepkick is a good pressure tool still. this is flat out wrong and his suggestions for what to do after your stepkick is blocked will get beat by literally every character’s jab
honestly this video is counter productive to people’s understanding of abel and imo should be taken down from the front page
Hi, I created the video you unfortunately dislike, and would like to clarify some things about it :D.
I don’t use falling sky as an anti air, and have never done so unless it’s either ex or a very far jump in (which crouching mk could be used anyway). I never cleared that up in the video, sadly :(.
I didn’t really show any BnB’s either, and was planning on doing a different video for Abel combos anyway.
And here is what I’ve been getting the most flak for, stepkick. I promise that I mean it when I say stepkick still works. I will agree that it can be easily beaten by a characters jab, according to the frames. That doesn’t, however, factor in someone’s reactions in a match. I sat down in training mode before this video thinking the same thing, but the results I found weren’t very convincing. It honestly takes almost full on mashing to try and get the jab out consistently to beat Abel’s jab or throw. Even so, you will often get hit/thrown instead. I could even record me attempting to mash through it, if anyone would like.
Sorry you disapprove of my video/Abel :O. My intentions are definitely not to misinform anyone.

Yup, that move is just weird. I dont think its bug, just weird hitbox. Btw, its not F.MK, because F.MK is the kick on the stomach which is dash cancelable. The move you are doing is just normal standing MK.
