…I’m also confused. For cross-ups, cl.hp works well. You can special cancel it into a roll if you want.
hehehe , yeah my bad
i couldn’t find the right word.

Abels playing AE, has the hitbox change affected cr. hp as an AA like was suspected?
Not enough to be overly concerned with it.
most of the time i play, i forget abels been nerfed at all. I usually get reminded when i do an Ultra or TT that i think will finish em off, but leaves them with a pixel left.
That pixel after u1 seems major in some MU’s. Been noticing that it lets the likes of the twins with their huge comeback factor herp derp to the win. shrug
thanks for the infos
So sometimes when I do the medium/fierce, CoD fadc elbow, FS sometimes it will do 300 sometimes it will do 220, why?
…
because medium and fierce each does different amount of damage?
Hp and Mp Cod/Falling sky differ by around 10 damage…
maybe ur gettin counter hit.
I should have been more specific, I mean I’m getting different damage with he same combo.Cr.Mp, cod, fadc elbow F,fs will give me 220 instead of 300 sometimes.
its damage scaling then. lesser health you have, lesser damage you receive. even in training mode, if you do combos when the opponent has low health, damage will be scaled.
read more on damage scaling.
that does make sense lol
I have a couple prolly scrubby questions. For the step kick into fierce link does what distance the step kick hit make a difference? And is there any visual cues that are helpful to hit the link better? I’ve just been plinking it regularly, I wait like a second after the dash and hit it. Do you guys super plink it?
And if someone is crouch teching after your step kick will a st.fp give you a counter hit or just get you counter hit?
The distance matters in a few matchups. Example- in order for s.fierce to connect against HONDA, you have to be at max distance. Why? Hitboxes.
When a lot of Abels started out, I remember people using the dust that falls to the ground after the dash as a visual cue.
The crouch teching question… there’s a lot of variables that can be added, but taking your question straightfoward, you will get hit if your opponent has a 3f jab/short and times it correctly.
When reading Abels Frame data, I see that it says the startup for his super says 1+5. What exactly does that mean? Is it 6 frames to startup or what, I’ve also seen other notations with “~” and “+” signs can someone explain this as I’m trying to learn frame data better. Thanks in advance guys
1+5,
The one means that the super flash takes up 1 frame… from there, it takes abel 5 frames to run out… so YES the move is 6 frames from start to finish.
abel’s ultra 1 is 1+13… 1 for the flash where his eyes get all creepy…then 13 for his lunge punch to come out and hit the other person… totaly speed of ultra = 14.
So is there a way to know if you’re going to get the juggle state off an AA elbow?
yes, look at the animation. if youre sending your opponent flying upwards, thats a juggle state.
I mean know preemptively, so i can be ready to dash fs or whatever. Can you know you’re going to get the juggle?
when you tag your opponent with the 2nd hit of cr.hp.
