My many congratulations if someone spent a lot of time making a new drawing or hacking the crap out of a sprite such that the result is now something totally new. That’s way cool, and if there was a competition for SF drawings or hacking the crap out of sprites, kickass, enter that and I hope you win. But this was a competition to see who could make the most interesting or creative avatar that relates to boobies/ass and shoryuken, and the field was limited in that respect.

I think I am late but I vote for the sho ryu ben again.
I can barely make any type of avatar period so I dont know all this technically jargon bullshit.
All I do is look at the topic or theme, look at the avatars and how they relate and look at what is in them and if the avatar goes together.(IE things like does the background fit in does the style fit how does the style look with the theme shit like that)If that makes me unfit to be a judge then so be it. This whole arguing over judging style is bs, different people do it differently leave it at that.

This is what I told quiche recently. Based on the idea, that it’s cool IMO to explain how you went about it, or what images were used etc.

OK for my animated one, i edited the necklace and I edited the boxing gloves. I think it’s about 9 frames altogether. To remove the necklace, i used clone stamp on different opacity and blending settings to give the appearance that it was never in it’s original spot. I used the different marquee tools to remove the necklace itself, and then pieced them together to make it much longer than it originally was. I then took a SF3 Ryu DP sprite, and blended it to match that of the original necklace’s symbol that was removed.
After that, I removed the boxing gloves with another marquee tool so i can have total control over where i want to place them for each frame. I used liquify on the breasts to create lifelike bounce, and used motion blur on the dp symbol and on the boxing gloves to make the animation more fluid and life-like.
EDIT: btw, the name of the av with that long title. It was a Balrog and Mike Tyson quote mixed. Goes with the Boxing gloves, Balrog(look like tyson thing you know) and all that stuff. And just a general play on the constant SFII titles.

I really enjoyed making it becase it was a complete and utter departure from anything I’ve ever done before.
I don’t mind that I didn’t get any votes. I enjoyed making the av, and I’m happy with the finished product.
I did, however, get 2 comments on the av, and neither one spotted Ken. Mr_Punkus said the flames seemed reminscent of “ken’s dp” but otherwise didn’t fit the theme, and UltraDavid said it was just an actress with flames.
Here’s a hint where Ken was:

P.S.: And yes, Punkus, that is Nicole Kidman, lolz.
I noticed the Ken. It looked to me like Nicole was doing an “extention” of Ken’s Shoryuken with the flames on the corner coming from her but I’m also a retard so… well you know.

THIS was the problem i had with the judging this time. There’s plenty of other entries where stuff like this got and are still getting completely overlooked.
As far as a judges opinion on what they like seeing, artistic judgements, etc. Who really cares, cause it’s their opinion on whatever they think looks good. Can’t really ever knock that. BUT if they just straight up overlook stuff, or say it’s not even there… that’s what I was addressing and having a problem with.
