I don’t get the connection to SRK, as it’s not immediatly obvious, which I consider to be important. Also, the shadow on the leg and arm detracts from the piece, as my eyes were drawn to these slight imperfections.
Deadly grope
I think this av could have benefitted from being animated. The whole theme is Q performing his grab on some tittays, so it’s not too much to ask for him to actually perform it, is it? Although the brash colours serve to highlight the seperate segments, there’s not much else to hold your attention.
Fire
Is that Nicole Kidman? Anyway, apart from the flame effect reminding me of Ken’s HP shoryuken, not much of the way of theme. I know it’s subtle, but at least some varation in bg colour would have added some much needed flavour.
Glory
Too simple. If the creator was going for the Sheng Long effect, something more than a white-haired ponytail would be helpful. As it is, it’s a minimalist piece which would impress art critics, but not the everyman’s of SRK. Props for trying something different, but i feel it’s too abstract for it’s own good.
Pshoryuken
I like the psylocke theme, but the hair looks sloppy, and the purple outline could have benefitted from a outer shadow/glow effect. Also the BG on still images plays a big role, and this one isn’t enough to propel it above other entries.
R Mika
This looks the kind of av I would make, and my work is amateurish at best. Functional but basic, there’s nothing to make this stand out from the crowd.
Sonic the leghog
I really, REALLY like the sega-esque font. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the text, then you look for something else sega related, and realize that it’s not there.:rolleyes: I think the av is a victim of the font’s success, as it overshadows the rest of the piece. Nice try, though.
SRK Elisabeth
Pretty sunset to complement beth’s knockers, but her upper chest just looks TOO bare. If there was a pendant or chain or something distract your eye, the piece would all the better for it. Maybe if beth was wearing a bikini, the foreground wouldn’t look so plain, but there isn’t, so this one loses out.
SRK tits
This is a nice av, but it looks like the creator has just grabbed a stock image and thorwn a blue and purple gradient over it along with a pattern overlay. The central figure blends in too much with the BG, making this one forgettable. I mean her funbags are nice, but not nice enough to win this av contest.
Toasty
The mandatory humourous entry. The creator has no intention of winning this contest, only to provide us with a cheap laugh. In both respects they have succeeded.
Sho-Roba-Ken: Rising Donkey Punch
This av works really well. The humor aspect is not the only redeeming feature. The donkey’s red gi sits perfectly, the cropped corners add character, and the jap text across the bottom is a nice touch. Everything about this av is pleasing to the eye, and if the other entries were not of a good quality, this would be top three material.
Black Hole
This was a tough one. I had to flip a coin to see if this made 3rd place. This av is simple, but extremely effective. the contrast between the black, white and pink is eye-catching, and the traditional SRK font is a sure fire way to score theme-points. I would wear this as an av. But it lacks a certain something I can’t put my finger on. Again, if the other av’s weren’t so good, this would place top three. Unlucky, bro.

**I think this scored 3rd solely because of that fine ass. Clever, and not trying too hard. Your eyes keep going back to the arrows. And you wonder how she got those tan lines there in the first place. Solid entry, even though it appeals to the lowest common denominator.

**The contrast between the portrait and sprite is excellent- they both complement each other by virtue of being so different. And the irregularlt shaped border is vital- otherwise it would just be another run of the mill effort. As it is, it stands out from the crowd, and that has earned it 2nd place.

**A very professional looking entry. Looks like it came straight out of promo material for CVS3. Simple but effective bold colours, and a nicely drawn central figure. Even the text’s positioning is perfect. My personal favourite, this wins the hotly contested 1st place.
