Kofkofkof, please tell all the players that they doing a great job by playing Alpha 3 and that they have to old on! =)
A3 is my absolute favorite game since it came out. I play it since 1999 (this is the release date for Germany if I remember correct.) So I’m thankfull for every player I hear of! You asked for Alpha 3 in other countries. Ok, let me tell you about the situation here in Germany. =)
We never had access to the arcade port here. We always had to rely on the PS1 or DC version of it. That is sad I know. Germany never had arcade due to some stupid laws. Having actually arcades isn’t the prob here in germany, the prob is because of: #1 very high taxes (games count technically as gambling here) #2 and since gambling machines are only allowed for the adult people, arcades would be for people with the age of 18 here.
Two big contras against arcades in germany. But other countries had arcades and played Alpha 3. Like France. But the arcades died not only in the US the died here in Europe too. (France, Italy, Portugal…) Anyway, this never managed to hurt the german fighting scene when it comes to A3. Arcades die everywhere? Who cares? Ok, I tell you who cares…
The people that want to compete at big tourneys. The Evolution doesn’t support A3 anymore? Ok, then France won’t really support A3 on the big tourneys anymore. (and in europe, France is your Japan, you follow them to some certain points.) Ok, little tourney had still A3. But little tourneys in attract only the people living in this land, no international competition. So all those little A3 tournament start to lose their colors. They eventually get boring. You start to look over to all those big 3rd tournaments and maybe will compete their because their is this big competition. Why play Apha if nobody else plays it execpt you?
Well this doesn’t count for german at least. We have every year at least 2 “big” tournaments and we have every two month Ranking Battles. (for those Ranking Battle we splitted the bemu players in Germay Norht devision, mid-west and south devision. Sadly the south devision doesn’t play A3, because their are lazy. ~_~) On those Ranking Battles we play 3rd Strike, Kof XI, and A3 (and other games if we have time left.)
A little about the character used in germany. We had a good V-Cody player that did infinites during tournaments. We had a good V-Charlie and a very good V-Sakura. (The Cody and Charlie player teamed up at one tournament and won once. The Sakura also one a single tournament once.) That for the past. (the V-Sak player still loves Alpha3, but doesn’t play in the moment on tournaments. I hope he will return.) I used to be a X-Chun-Li player.
But thats the past. Today we have Rolentos (A/V), Zangief (A/V), very strong A-Dhalsims, A-Gens, strong Ken, Iczer here on the forum is a very very good A-Rose player (doing her unblockables in A-ism) we have Adon players, We have V-Akuma (one player that takes V-Akuma seriuos) We have one new good player that got on the 3rd place at the last tournament with A-Birdie. (don’t laugh please, this Birdie player uses him in a insane way. But I won’t say anything more about it, because I can’t back up with vids…and a vid is more than 1000 words. ^^)
Then we have me. My main chara now is V-Juni. And believe me I never knew that Juni is this kind of a monster. You can do anything with her, nearly have no bad match-ups. She has little range and she has low life and maybe some people aren’t used to charging and complain about the lack of normals compared to Cammy. But! I’m a charge player since the first day and you can overcome all this bad aspects with her great plus points! (Juni can do so much. She can get her damage in so many way it isn’t even funny even more. Can’t discribe it in words. Unblockable VC’s, confusion VCs, corner Reset VC’s, OTG VC’s, walk cancel VC’s, and those are only just the VC’s. She has this great special move set. The push block! Man I don’t know where to start and where to end.)

PS: Tell your players to keep on playing, they’re great if they do. Tell them to keep up to study A3. Keep watch the A-cho vids from japan. ^^
