Bear is the worst character in the game along w/ Saracen (arab dudes you fight in the desert).
Skeleton is up there in the tierings because of his range on magic.
Buzzsaws is top 4 because he’s the best crowd control character in the game. He suffers a little bit in arena mode because he doesn’t have much range, but he can guard against melee attacks efficiently.
After playing arena mode a bit I honestly think any character w/ Arrow Hail + Bombs is top tier along with Red Knight. no one else even really matters.
Air bombs (Y version that go down on an angle) are fucking awesome to spam, bombs on the ground are great against jump A spammers and good for zoning. Arrow Hail magic will knock Red Knight out of his electricity magic if he catches you and you both cast at around the same time. The arrows have decent range and if you cast a little bit before the Red knight does, you will actually outdamage him by like 10 points each time. His Y magic doesn’t do much for a single hit and relies on hitting you for its entire duration to be deadly, Arrow hail magic counters this effectively.
So I’m going to be using Chainmail Face (Royal guard) in Arena mode if I can’t get to the Red Knight fast enough. He’s a good counter and Arrow Hail + Bombs is legit. Grey Knight and Periwinkle Knight (conehead) both also have this magic (arrow hail + bombs) iirc.
Barbarian drops a few spots in arena mode although his magic is good, possibly better than arrow hail, I feel his lack of bombs hurts him.

I just tried the catfish glitch tonight and it worked the first time, I wasnt expecting it to but it works wonders… I got my Red Knight from like level 43 to level 50 tonight. Dopeness :tup:
Also got the animal trainer achievement. There are some pretty… interesting ones. Whats your guys fav animal orb/which do you think is the best?

you can also try: XXY --> XY --> XX,RT+Y (daze, launch, uppercut twirl then magic)

FINALLY
Got my Gold Skull on my Industrial Knight (buzzsaws).
I had beaten from the Desert onward with these other two guys one night when I randomly joined their game and tonight I randomly joined a game where the dude was just starting insane mode, so we went through the first half of the game.
He had to bounce right after we beat the Desert stage, so I just went back and solo’d the final wizard guy myself.
Seriously man, that’s such a disappointing boss. I know I was level 99 and knew his patterns and exactly how to take him out, but I only got hit like 2 times the entire boss fight. It just needs to be harder imo, especially on insane mode.
Also, what’s good with the Castle Crashers PvP tournament? Is no one seriously interested (besides the one other dude who said he was down, don’t feel like checking) in this? I’ll organize it and keep track of everything. Matches can be played whenever so long as it’s within a reasonable time frame. Level 35 cap for characters? Level 40??
Give some input guys, I know some other guys have to be interested especially if you’re playing arena mode online. Putting a level cap will give the characters some diversity instead of everyone being equaled out in online Arena Mode. C’mon guys, let’s fight like gentlemen.
Actually, there is a known glitch with Knight/Periwinkle Boss. Just throw him into the left side of the screen, and he will usually stick to the wall. Once there, he continually takes damage. Even once he has no life, he will stay stuck there, until you use magic or something similar. Then he will fall down dead.
I was kinda freaked when it happened:

i also noticed a nice little cash flow trick. the cave right before the cyclops fortress. start at the area right after leaving the cave , go back into the cave towards the broken down chariot. there is simple cash without having to fight anyone, the thieves on the chariot are not able to be attacked. so zone out and zone back in (repeat) to get easy money, it takes a little time but alot faster (specailly if you have high speed on your char) if your trying to just rack up on cizzash.

So uhm, what would you say the castle crashers tiers are to anyone whose played this for awhile. Been playing grey knight so far and I dunno if he sucks or not compared to the others.
It depends. Are you asking for tiers regarding playing against other players in Ranked Arena Mode. Or tiers in the story mode against the CPU enemies?
If its the second one Wild Kitty posted one a few pages back that seems pretty accurate. I have some opinions on PVP arena matches but I havent played enough of the secret characters to get a full understanding of all the abilities.

gray knight is pretty good against people with his bombs, not that great at certain parts in the normal game (fire area comes to mind)
