Trust me, I’ve been searching for low punch opportunities. I’ve had mixed results. The problem is that low punch sabaki. Trying to evade online is risky even though it’s generally the best option against flamingo shit. Another thing is I still don’t know exactly when she has to stop swinging.
I’m thinking some solutions might character specific, but Jean and Brad have some very specific reversals/parries. I’m tempted to throw out Brad’s P+K+G for free ass stomping, but he’s ridiculously unsafe standing there with his knee up if it fails. Jean can’t even parry or sabaki kicks harumph harumph.
Usually, I use Brad’s parry vs. wakeup kicks, but I’m finding some success using it against Jackys who like to throw out a mid kick after his “come on!” stance.
Against flamingo, I think what I’m going to do is back off and try using long-range attacks. I’m gonna have to head in to the lab and try some stuff out.
Those Jacky/Sarah big dumb heel drop kicks count as mid kicks. You can seriously just P+K+G on reaction and feed it to them for it. I see a lot of Sarah players just backdash and throw that shit out.
Managed to rank up to Sentinel again. 55% win rate.
People: Keep playing VF5FS! TTT2 and DOA5 are coming but VF5FS must keep up. I’ll be playing VF5FS and DOA5 myself.
PS: Got demoted and promoted this weekend. The more I get demoted the more I value the rank. Raider and Barbarian - Got demoted once. Defender and Sentinel - Got demoted twice…so far
I played it non-stop for about 8 hours at the weekend on Live. The action is all in Ranked. Still see new players on the low numbers (hell, I only got it myself a few weeks back!). There’s no real polite or tactful way of saying it, but if you see how large parts of SRK are really into the big modern Capcom games (SFIV, UMvC3, and SFxT) with all their flash, hype and over the top chars and moves, then it’s probably inevitable that TTT2 is the next big thing for them.
Just dipping into the VF section here, I noticed how the new Tekken has it’s own massive sub-forum in bold, while we’re buried right down below virtually everthing else except SkullGirls, lol
So, the agenda is transparent, but VF fans who don’t live in Japan or a few NYC/Cali arcades have never had it so good, and with the DLC outfits, there’s quality replay for many months still on this.
The truth is the number of people supposed to be in Xbox live has increased. A few months back it didn’t reach 15000. Now it is almost 18000. I guess it’s more difficult to find games because people have moved to Rooms/play with friends. I still play every chance I get. There is probably people from the DOA community playing until DOA5 drops. And I think the fact that DOA has VF characters will actually get more people interested in the game. It might reach 20000 at some point.
I mean non ranked rooms. Your best bet to find people to play would be VFDC. I’m not there because I cannot access it from my work and I spend 90% of my time at work…But I lurk VFDC when at home and it’s great.
I had 6 available players with 4 bright green and 2 slightly darker conn boxes come up in a Ranked Worldwide search last night, around 11pm GMT. Most I’ve ever seen. Usually it’s 2 or 3. Maybe, just maybe, some people out there are getting sick to death of some of the other online fighters, and are becoming more and more curious about what SEGA can offer them.
I’m a hundred percent relaxed about DOA people wanting to [S]step away from mashing counter and[/S] come check out the VF ethos and feel. I’m sure this guy was once a pretty big fan too:
