I am 23 and still don’t understand the concept of having a thirst for knowledge. I’ve done well in school, maintaining a 3.7 GPA pretty easily. But I never found anything I’ve learned about very interesting. And, for the most part, I feel that ignorance is still bliss: especially when I can get by with good grades while barely reading any of the material (I dislike reading in general). Meanwhile, people like my dad seem to have a wide range of knowledge in so many things, has an entire wall of bookcases filled up, with extra stacks of books lying here and there, and is always engaged in conversation on something related to religion/philosophy, political dynamics in other parts of the world, or some other obscure topic that not many people would have anything useful to add to.
