My apologies if this has already been discussed here but i was really wondering if the console release is still going down? i already seen the game up and close here in NYC at the CTF arcade that used to be in chinatown. It looked really good and it played very well. its a definite redemption from tat kof 12 title. I still have kof 12 just for the love. but i will trade it in when ever kof 13 arrives.
Also is it a rumor that one of the Kof 13 producers left Snk? Thus the reason why theres a major stall on that console release? or is it because of how Kof 12 did on consoles and they are un sure on releasing the game now?
thanks for all input. Im just very curious on all this since this game faded into the shadows it seems
The major reason for the stall on the console release is because they’re adding a bunch of new characters in, which given how fucking long it took to finish the characters already IN the game…
The other reason is because SNK Playmore fails at budget and time management.
I’d recommend going to the kof thread in the future.
Console release is fuzzy, some sources say yes but without any concrete press as of late from SNK it can’t be said what’s going to happen exactly. Little while ago there was an article which indicated that SNK was still planning on doing it but I think that was before the shake-up.
Or it could be what Shiki said, I haven’t been reading up on it that much anymore.
i didnt even know there was a console port being developed so thats cool. i hope it has good netcode and they market it. SNK are you listening to me. market your game. purchase advertising space.
That’s the new layout actually. The old SNK layout was
…BCD or ABCD depending on the panel,
A
which I could personally never wrap my head around when they were kick and punch buttons. Either is an option though.
Didn’t they do this game with like…HALF a skeleton crew, in a sweatshop version of the usual game programmer’s office environment? “Hiro, you can sleep under your desk. When you aren’t sleeping…CODE YOUR ASS OFF!! You can go home when this game is done.”
That’s not as strange as you’d think. One of the Arc System Works interviews has Daisuke saying he didn’t go home for 17 months once and there’s a room pretty much dedicated to Mori sleeping there these days. Even in American game development staying until 3am and coming back at 8am is pretty normal during crunch, keeping in mind it’s a hell of a lot easier to get home at 3am when you drive rather than use public transit.
Yeah, a while back SNKP USA has been saying that there will be a KOFXIII console release and “kick-ass netplay”. The issue was that they didn’t really give an ETA on the launch so now it’s just up to the patience of the consumer.
ngcd layout > all others (imo, the one i like the most).
C D
A B
fucking great for rolls and cd attacks, and ex moves and ex dms are a really easy this way. only problem would be BC or AD, i remember ever since the ss2 days and kof 94/95 days as soon as me or my lil bro held the pad differently (and where using a char that had a super or another special move done with BC or AD) you knew shit was coming up. man the japanese displayed the best set ups for fighters when they made those cabs where you face each other at the opposite end instead of next to each other. not possible at home though, lol.
