Stock-You could try iStock but I think you need to buy a membership. Another option would be deviantArt. They have a couple of stocks. EDIT: iStock says joining is free, but it has prices on the main page. I’ll have to look into it some more.
Spritesheets: Try hittin’ up the IMAGE HELP thread [sticky]. They have a bunch of links on the first page, as well as a link to the previous thread that it overtook.
Fighting games sprites ?
You can get a lot of spritesets with mugen characters, just dl an sff extractor (or mugen character maker), and you can have every sprites of every mugen character you’ll find.
Other than that, Scissorman’s thread can also be a great help.
