Right now Juicebox is commentating on KoF 13, and he’s doing an awesome job, screaming and obviously very hyped, explaining what goes on in the matches, not being offensive and crude but at the same time not being some neutered bitch. You got guys on stream saying he’s getting them excited and actually making them care about KoF. THAT is the mark of a good commentator, and he did all that without acting like dumbass. Somebody needs to hook that guy up with a gig commentating KoF matches or something because he’s GOOD at this.
Edit: Holy shit someone give Juicebox a job commentating, just watching this guy gets you excited, he has the whole stream hyped up, people were sad when he left.

Well…think of it this way, SRK has to have X number of shitty posts for every good one. I made a good one, behaved, didn’t drag people through triceratops shit piles like I should have so it was obvious that things were going to turn out this way. The online community part of SRK is kind of in the way it handles discussions. I’m not going to claim that my posts are all kirspy 24/7 but I’m also not going to be bothered when our actions have spoken significantly louder than words.
This shit ain’t ever making it to the front page so addressing it to the public in general was a bad idea. But hopefully people re-read it and go “you know what, regardless of this black mark, we are that. We got work to do and then some, but damn if we aren’t overall positive. Fuck the other people, let’s keep ourselves tight.” That’s pretty much what I have deduced the Cannons, Wiz and a lot of the “higher ups” of the FGC want: the community to continue living, playing and staying positive. I mean, nonsense on the internet is nonsense on the internet. So long as we are keeping positive at our events, face some of the real issues we have with new people (some justified, some which are accidental and some which are just bad on the community), then we won’t really have to worry about the website being kinda shitty for somethings.
I’m trying to keep it on topic. 
I want to say this on the whole subject: if Aris doesn’t represent the entire FGC (And I don’t think he does, his ridiculous blanket statement on stream was insanely unwarranted)…then the fault doens’t lie with the FGC.
It lies with whoever was responsible for Cross Assault, and making sure that the participants were in a safe environment. Was this Capcom? Or was it Twitch.tv? I’m not sure, but therein lies the culprit.
On ANY reality show, there has to be health and safety guidelines. If on Big Brother one contestant stabs another in the chest, regardless of any legal contracts that were signed by the participants prior, the producers of the show would still be legally liable for the incident. You can’t force people into unsafe situations and not have any kind of supervision or protection in place, especially if you’ve made them sign a legal contract to be there for a certain period of time, and they cannot legally leave.
Any MATURE ADULT who watched the Tekken stream knew that what Aris was doing was totally out of line…regardless of what hundreds of “stream monsters” were saying in the chat, and asking him to do. Just because immature idiots ask you to do something, you don’t have to do it. And we knew the stakes here: Cross Assault was the first reality-webseries in the FGC and it was going to get a lot of media attention. So how on earth do you allow this to go on for days? NOBODY is in charge, and NOBODY speaks up? NOBODY monitors the stream?
There have been numerous pieces of proof that Miranda was uncomfortable during the course of the week; between getting up and walking out of the room while Aris harassed her, and her literally SAYING ON STREAM that what Aris was doing was over the line and she couldn’t believe that people were like that…if ANYONE from Capcom or Twitch.tv had actually been monitoring their own product, they would have known this had to stop. Shit, at the end of the competition there was an on-air apology to Miranda, so there is admission of guilt here. Too little, too late.
Nobody manned up and did anything. Then you have WNF, two guest commentators making light of the fact that mainstream media had picked up on what was going on during Cross Assault and sensationalized it unfairly. Yes, the media did unfairly say it was the ENTIRE FGC that was sexist, but if you have any iota of intelligence you know better than to MAKE FUN OF THE SITUATION ALL NIGHT ON A PUBLIC STREAM. AGAIN - who was supervising WNF? Is nobody responsible for anything in the FGC at all, anything goes? Then Level Up apologizes the day after and says it was the fault of the commentators; actually, no, it wasn’t. What if the commentators started taking their clothes off on camera? Who is responsible? Answer: the person streaming the unacceptable content.
Until responsible persons begin to run and monitor these streams, unprofessional idiots will remain uncensored and say stupid things on them. And the entire FGC will suffer for it and take the blame, since a PUBLIC stream is just that: PUBLIC. It’s the face of the FGC to the public, who don’t necessarily attend tournaments, go on SRK for discussion, or know anything about the competitive scene outside of what they see on a stream. It’s completely LOGICAL that the media reacted the way that they did, even though what they said is completely untrue and unfair. But when you allow public streams to air this kind of nonsense repeatedly, LIVE, to the entire world over the internet, what do you expect?
I don’t personally know Aris (I certainly have my biased opinions of him after these events though), but IMO the only way I can see the FGC coming out of this without massive egg on its face is to make him the martyr. Perm ban him from EVO/SRK, publicly state that this is his punishment for making the FGC look so bad to the public, and move on like it never happened. I completely understand that he is probably a great guy in person, he’s been part of the community for a long time and lots of people are close friends with him. But to the non-FGC public, HE IS THE GODDAMNED DEVIL. And the fact that very prominent FGC members have come out defending him actually supports the “mainstream media’s” bullshit stories about how the entire FGC condones sexism. So yeah - cut the strings, let him fly and find a new hobby, and move on. Or else defend him, suffer the effects and remain one of the most ignored competitive communities in video games, for all the wrong reasons.
Wait, why should the FGC care what other people think, let alone the mainstream. From what I know the mainstream left the FGC to die, nor did it give a fuck. Its fucking absurd that the mainstream comes back to try and make a quick buck from something that was kept alive by passionate people, and people expect/want the community to bend over by the same people that left the community to rot and die a cancerous death.
Its would be absurd to completely bend over for the same people that didn’t give a fuck about the scene or community, until they saw that they could make millions from advertisements. That would be simply stupid for the community to do that.

Why would we ban Aris? Guy’s been through enough. He doesn’t need to get blackballed, he needs somebody to help him out when he gets out of hand because odds are is that he isn’t noticing when he is doing it.
