A lesser known, but very influential guitarist died same day as Prince: Lonnie Mack

He certainly didn’t influence music or culture as much as Prince by ANY means. Many of you probably don’t even know Lonnie Mack but, the man did a lot to shape rock and blues. Jeff Beck, Bootsy Collins, Duane Allman, Ted Nugent, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many others have cited Mack as a large influence on them. I doubt any of you care but I thought I’d share.

YES! Good lookin out @Eternal Yeah Lonnie was a hell of a player and outside Albert King, one of the first I ever remember seeing playing a Flying V.

This year burying a lot of famous names, geeze.

There has been a large death in nearly every major western music genre just in the last 5 months.

Heavy Metal/Classic Rock/Country/R&B/HipHop/Funk(Disco)/Soul/Blues/Pop

Only things I can think of really missing are classical, electronica, folk, and jazz.

… Damn. 2016 is not holding back on anyone.
RIP
