I’m new-ish to CvS2, and I can play the game decently, but I kind of want to pick up A-Groove. I was kind of thinking I could use Gief as my battery (I know he’s not exactly an ideal pick, but I’m just playing around, so yeah). If anyone can help me with his CCs, that’d be great. So far the best I can figure out is repeated kick lariats in the corner :P.

I’m pretty sure his CC is the same was it was in Zero 2 and 3.
CC activate, low rh, 3k lariat, hp banishing flat and keep doing 3k lariat xx hp banishing flat untill the meter runs out, I’m not sure about the finisher though. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, thanks.

I will try it, and thanks for the reply. I don’t know whether I’m still going to be using him on my team (I’m kind of feeling Honda as my battery), but A-Groove 'Gief’s always fun. 
negative. his hits in cvs2 will knock your opponent too far away for gief to reach them.
i think using gief as an A groove character would benefit more from RC lariats and 360/720 setups, as opposed to a CC. that is, if you really want to use him…
ONLY use A-Gief if you are like me, and have been using him in other incarnations for years, and he is your best character. There are other, BETTER characters in A.

General Gameplan -
Poke with c.fierce, s.forward, s.short, c.forward, c.roundhouse
Counter mids with RC kick lariat or walk back RC punch lariat
Anti-air with RC Lariat (close) or c.strong (far)
Bait slow pokes and grab with RC running grab
Dash in SPD
Get in close after knockdown, time an RC kick grab (double suplex) as a "magic throw"
Get a d/b roundhouse to connect in the corner for a free CC
Drop through CC in the corner
CvS2 (A-Groove) Zangief isn’t the same as his SFA3 (V-ISM) incarnation.
V-ISM Zangief can piledrive you off the ground, A-Groove Zangief can’t, this is a big minus to CvS2 Zangief if you think about how many damage a Piledriver can do.

The basic A-Gief combo I use is:
Best/easiest in corner: 3k/3p special x infinite (if opponent is on ground, you can do this special tons before they start bouncing, for decent damage), finish with kick super.
Other than that, you can pretty much do w/e (repeated air-juggling), as long as it ends up with them in the corner, I find it’s easiest to connect the kick-super off of his 3p or 3k juggle (in corner) though, so I tend to finish it that way.
