Ironically, 2010 will be the game’s 20th anniversary. Capcom should probably make a real Street Fighter fighting game KOF style i.e. having all the characters from the 2D games in one.
Not really, Ookami-kun. That’s just what Capcom USA says. They changed the story and the main character’s name from Kevin Striker to Ken in some halfassed attempt to get people to buy a good nes game in a time when people were buying the hell out of Capcom nes games. (they do a lot of changing stuff from the original version, so that just goes to show how much you can trust THEM). That shit was totally unneccessary. SF 2010 actually has jack-squat to do with the Street Fighter franchise. Great soundtrack, though.
The game was called “2010: Street Fighter” in Japan, and yeah. despite the name did not have anything to do with the then-dormant SF franchise. There was the whole Final Fight originally being titled as “Street Fighter '89” thing but that never worked out. SFII was most likely well into development when 2010 came out for NES.
That aside, the game was quite underrated yet DIFFICULT, and yes it did have an awesome soundtrack.
