I was a lurker since Nov '00, my cousin told me about this site but I was still up on GameFAQ’s back then (lol, I know) I joined in June '01 cause I was moving to Kansas City, MO and wanted to find some folks to hang with…
From there I was heavy in the Midwest Tourny scene, till Oct '04…then moved to Houston, TX to grow the fuck up go t school and get a job in the IT Field.
Now I’m 28, and have over 4 years of IT under my belt - retired from the tourny scene…and yeah, I grew the fuck up.
Ha, I think I kept a couple of yours too (including the pac-man)

Wow. It’s been so long, heh. I joined back in 2002, after I met Kennywood and he mentioned this site to me. A few Asian Girl Threads here, and Dudley threads there, I was a regular for a while both to SRK and the tourney scene. Like Mycah, life happened and I had to grow the fuck up. I still do some SF related stuff but nothing like before.
Mummy-B and Dasrik’s death in that time span though - reality doesn’t fuck around. Both were amazing, and I truly do miss 'em.
Here’s to, at least, another 10 years. Also, Koop, I think I still have the Pac-man RC avatar you had a few years back, I’m gonna have to scan my desktop for it though. That thing was great!

Oh my god, I almost forgot about the whole “I’M RICK JAMES BITCH” era. That shit was retarded as hell and not even funny. Everyone and their mother’s post had that saying in it somewhere. People were actually using that shit as a tag at the end of their posts for the longest. It’s like everytime it was used zapped a bit of Rick James’ soul from him until he died. Though his death was tragic, it also served the purpose of snapping people out of that shit when it became “uncool” to use it.
How about Lil Jon saying “WHAT?!?!??!?!”? Everyone said that NON-STOP for aino, a period of a year or so. I remember it being fervent back in 2004 when I dredged through Navy Basic.

I joined in late 2001. I used to be a pretty active poster, but now-a-days I only visit SRK a couple times a year or so. This place always brings back memories of simpler times. I remember SRK and some other forum – I think it was Shinra Online – I was on those all the time before my old middle school blocked the sites.
I joined because of Will Gotti who was Grenun back then. I knew about srk like 6 months earlier I just never bothered to actually register. I finally did one day to look up CvS2 strats of all things. Those were good times, debating with Mummy B about Terry, me and Koop posting it up in the Athena thread. And I was like the only Joe player on srk. Was part of team lock/ban with SK. Lived in Washington for awhile and loved it. Did some dumb shit with some of the people there, but they are a good group.
Actually have fond memories of SRK, if I wade passed the the repressed one. I’m pretty sure my very first post lived up to my name by sonning the hell out of Mycah for his love of fat women and receiving a full green bar of rep from one post. Hip hop thread was always polarizing, between people posting quality stuff and all the Swizz Beats/Kanye West/Dipset Stans in that thread. It was interesting meeting some of the people on here I had only previously known as SRK handles and meeting people who knew me based on mine.
Some people I strait up have real life hate for tho, even to this day but they are few and far between. Overall, props to SRK for being the catalyst to keep the fighting game community going.
