A couple of Yun changes in USF4 from Japanese loctest

Oh i haven’t checked eventhubs in the recent hours.Those changes sound “bad”.

a cmd grab cr mp, st mp hk upkicks with +10 on mediums and the 1 hit of damage added to tenshin will do 206 in ultra down from 212 in 2012…

However nobody would want to use command grab anyway because of the nerfs to it lol(overexaggerating but still)

Why doesn’t Fei, Makoto or Yang have the counterhit on recovery? Just Yun and he is the worst of them all :confused:
Some Japanese were probably wanting Yun nerfed ahrd…or someone at Capcom.

Also it decreases dmg in Genei Jin from a cmd grab reset…

Anyway what’s up with these changes?I might be okay with the inv frame being removed from the normal version of upkicks but Yun is supposed to be a rushdown character which means if i am in the face of the opponent i should have more advantage especially if i have meter.
But instead they nerf the command grab(s) too.Then they come out with this 1 dmg change.What? And that counter hit part…no comment

186 damage after cmd grab cmp smp mk upkicks (on hk whiff hitboxes), and worse cmd grab gj damage? I am confused by additional nerfs and want to know the reasoning, along with upkicks nerf there’s no reason to use yun anymore.
More bad news, saw in the taiwan stream loc that rolento seems to have the shoto hitbox too (where hk upkicks whiff), I wish this was fixed or they restored mk kicks damage back.

For people saying Genei Jin 800 damage bs. You know palms push the opponent further? Damage with Genei Jin was nerfed? 1 more second wont change that. And Ultra fully charged + Genei Jin =/= Genei Jin. You are talking about a specific corner combo that required full ultra and super. And I doubt you would ever get 800 damage or even close to that with 1 more second. Not that I want Genei Jin buffed.

the counterhit nerf on whiff command grab feels so out of place… pretty unique and unnecessary as its a full punish anyway. the scaling nerf at least seems to be konsistent with some other characters nerfs in the past, though still bad.

but what happens to lk upkicks as anti air if they remove invinc? or is it just mk and hk? this could be the final deal breaker for me…

i really hope they re-think all these nerfs!

You really should go and look at the video thread as it seems like you are pretty misinformed.

Anyway, the command throw nerf seems a bit much. I wonder what the reasoning is for it.

  • The complainers on Capcom unity that can’t get the nightmare of Yun in his proud AE glory days out of their head.

  • Xian salty because he hates the Gen-Yun match up ( seriously) he even made news on EventHubs that he wanted to see all non grappling characters with a command grab toned down a bit, remember? I remember that article perfectly.

  • The biggest nerf for all of Ultra was Viper’s nerfs to her Burnkick ( when they knock you out of burnkickstart up viper is considered grounded and open to a full combo and all burnkicks have one more frame over recovery, i think the light version was unchanged though), but they decided to remove BOTH of them cause many people said she was already under the radar in 2012 no need to put her further under. in AE12 most people can agree she is B+/ A- now cause she’s been figured out at the higher levels, lower level players might say A tier though cause they think they know but they don’t. Lol Just looking at Vipers current Ultra SF4 change list she will be B+/A- again but with a few new twist, so that should be cool.

in conclusion if we complain enough guys we can keep Yun at around the B+/A- tier… which is perfect… not too high and not too low, that should keep the salty crybabies off us on XBL and PSN.

All I found was you getting 450-500 on Genei Jin.

While he’s ignorant of kara palm, Voth is correct about the ~800 damage super, it should not be listed as a reason to not extend super by 1s. Landing a full raw ultra (for no scaling) with full super while in the corner is not standard and will almost never occur in a real match.

There is still about 4 months before the game will be finalized.
Send a mail with a suggestion list and support these suggestions with arguments. Not as individuals but as a collaborated effort. Combofiend only takes feedback in person and via his Capcom mail. Making a thread at CU or via twitter won’t work.

David Hinds asked me what my concerns were with Yun and I told him his nerfs seem to be too much. I suggested testing Yun on 950 health and no recovery on Dive kicks. Hopefully he listens. I don’t think my suggestions are anything broken. You think it’s 4 months but it’s going to be less. Our best bet is to make noise via email or twitter with suggestions because I fear they won’t give 2 shits if Yun is bottom tier.

I agree. We definitely need to stand together as a collective unit. Otherwise Yun is doomed to mediocre as 2012 Yang.
