(909) Ontario, California (909) ***Planning a tournament, i need your guy's help***

whats up SRK and southern california!?!?!

UPDATE!!!: my friend just texted me and she said her boss is all for it, so i now have the go ahead, so time to get serious.****

in a recent strike of brilliance, and luck, im planning on organizing my very first street fighter tournament.

a good friend of mine got a job a new comic book store opening February 20th in Ontario, California called New Age Comics. and i figured what better what to get the stores name out there than a tournament. because i figured what do gamers love other than video games?? and comics was one of the first things that popped in my head.

my homegirl is going to run my idea by her boss and will hit me up soon, probably tomorrow, but i dont think i would have the actual event for another month or two for time to organize and get the word out.

so i think it would be a perfect venue, i haven’t yet been there myself so im not sure on the size and available space, but i can see this working.

the thing is, it is my first time considering even thinking about running my own tournament, seeing as how ive only been to one myself. but i think it could work out great with your guys help

SO! how do i go about setting this bitch up!? i going to just go with what common sense is telling me.

im going to need multiple TV’s (monitors), multiple consoles (im going to say XBOX because thats what i have so thats already one console, but i do have a couple friends with ps3’s that they might let me barrow), multiple copy’s of SSF4, this you guys would have to help me out with, i MIGHT buy one other copy (would then have 2 copys) of ssf4 for xbox for the occasion, if no one is willing to bring theirs.

idk this idea just came up 30 minutes ago, and i want to get are prepared as possible if this does jump off.

GIVE ME YOUR FEED BACK.

Damn are they doing CCG’s and the such?

I know there are already 3 other stores like that in the area: 4 Color Fantasies, Gameology, and Shuffle n Cut, all within a few miles of each other.

There are actually already SSFIV casuals/tournaments at Shuffle n Cut, kind of ironic.

Aside from that though, go for it, there is definitely a scene in that area.

Have you considered having MvC3 at the tournament? It comes out Feb 15, and seeing as how it’s in a comic book store it seems perfect.

yeah ive been to SnC a couple times, and excuse me but CCG’s??

and thank you for your input i didn’t even think of MvC3!!! and that game does seem like it would be more fitting to the venue haha. maybe my first tourny will be a multiy game!! ha

id recommend going to the pac south section here on srk and check the threads for people in the area.
im in the IE and im interested but if youre planning something go in there and ask for assistance (setups and stuff)
good luck!

 thank you for the tip! im really excited about this, i plan on going down to the store tomorrow and check out what kind of space im working with, but i already have 2 tv’s, and 1 xbox 360, 1 copy of ssf4. getting another tv is not a problem, and im pretty sure i can get one more xbox, and i will most likely be buying another copy of ssf4, maybe 2 depending on my money flow.

i think 3 tvs will be fine for the tournament, but im also thinking about getting another tv running for either a MvC3 mini tourny, or casuals.

Where in Ontario is that shop located?
