90 Year Old Man Arrested For Feeding The Homeless

A little girl started this up, now she is feeding about a million kids, 7% to costs/admin and the rest to the kids, seems like a good enough deal for me I donate to it regularly. Actually really cool story to how the charity got set up and they do more than just feed kids they help create a future for them as well.

If you were legit about setting up a charity, nothing better than the pure basics of making sure a dude isnt going hungry all day.

You know your state probably has some problems when every time there is a fucked up story that sounds based on stupidity of either the law or the person when most people immediately think and are often right in guessing your state as the source. It used to be a few of the traditionally Southern states, like my own Texas, Alabama, Georgia or Mississippi had a similar rep, thanks to the internet and some high profile cases, Florida is now king of the bad reputation States.

Either way, I hope the cop that arrested a 90 year old man and some ministers for giving out food gets mercilessly teased if not by his own fellow officers then by those that know him personally. That has to be just below arresting a child younger then seven for getting caught peeing in public in was that really necessary category of arrests.

Blame the lawmakers.

You need a license to prepare food for the public, that essentially makes you a restaurant. And a permit to use public space which seems strange because it belongs to you (public means belonging to the people). A food preparers certificate take like a couple of hours and only one person out there with you needs it.

But you shouldn’t need a permit for charity.

My cousin rents food trucks every once in awhile and hands out food. We prepare the meals at his house and then just hand it out ourselves. I don’t think he has a special license but I will ask him next time. Depends on the state though, I would have to look up how many states have it, I don’t know if NY has that rule (my cousin is in NJ).

These lawmakers, and law enforcement also, they need to understand they exist to serve the public. They OWE the public, not the other way around. That is pretty maddening to me.

Also, it’s ridiculous to me how high taxes are in light of the fact that the system is still failing to provide for people. I don’t want my taxes to go to Microsoft or Merck or other big companies, to JP Morgan or BOA or other banks. In my view the purpose of taxation is to provide best of the people at large, not to privatize profits and socialize losses for the rich.

The system refuses to do its job and then goes further and actually takes an effort to stop other people from doing good. It’s honestly maddening to me. I agree with the other poster on how I’d handle it if I was a cop. Or a lawmaker or whatever, I would laugh at how stupid the law was and ignore it happening. There are so many laws on the books that aren’t enforced, for instance in most states homosexuality is illegal because of sodomy being illegal, but that isn’t enforced. I’ve long complained about stupid laws on the books because they are selectively enforced, usually by a bully cop and frequently against minorities.

I think there are large, systemic issues with the American economy and law enforcement/regulatory systems. And one day, enough people will get fed up and actually force change. Because you have to force it, humanity has always had to fight for fairness, because evil likes to create complacency for their actions to be accepted.

This is true guys.

A lot of people hate the homeless. They smell to the point where you can’t get on the train. Some of them may attack you for your money or rape you.

What people started doing is giving them food with poison. Younger kids also mess with them, like putting certain drugs in the food, but this law is pointless for them because if you’re under 18 cops can’t really do anything to you.
