819 Gatineau - The good side of the river

Just as a preface note, if a mod believes this should be merged to the 613 thread, then feel free to do so but I’ve found that I’m pretty much the only player willing to go all the way over the river to play so I figured maybe we just didn’t have any organisation done for that here.

So yeah, this is a shout out to every fighting game players in the Hull/Buckingham/Gatineau/Masson area or the environs. It’s a drag having to go all the way to Ottawa to get any comp so I figured I’d see if anyone nearer to me played. Heck, we could even organise ourselves and try to get small shit runned around here.

Also we have a X-men vs SF cab now in the Promenades, player 1 side is broken as fuck (don’t even try doing qcf from right side) but it’s still kind of cool.

So if anyone in the 819 area is up for a game then just give a shout here or something. Heck, even add me to MSN if you feel like it. Let’s try to get a scene going here guys!

Man, I know Montreal is awesome comp and all but it’s even worse than going to Ottawa if you can’t afford the 2 hours ride. And I can’t. Hell, I can barely afford the one hour bike ride to Ottawa. That’s why I made the topic, to see if there’s an alternative to the two extremes.

Actually I don’t even know if anyone else than me plays, but I seriously hope so because if not then this is really bad for me. Personally, I play CvS2, ST and #R as well as a little bit of 3S (and I am fucking awful at it) and even less of MvC2.

Edit: Oh and a bit of Tekken 5 although I am really bad at it. But Heiachi is just too awesome not to play him.

you should focus on 1 game first bcuz your not gonna get anywhere unless u do that

Yeah, I mostly focus on ST, the other games are mostly side hobbies that I won’t refuse a match on if someone asks.

Too bad ST has very little local comp :frowning:

And sorry man, don’t know any place nearer than UO on friday nights. You can play 6 -> 10 if you need to leave early man. It’s not far, honestly, I use to walk to hull just to buy cigarettes every week. Across the bridge. both ways. at night. in -30 degree weather. seriously.

I usually break out the HF first and ST as a last resort.

EDIT: there’s always Paul who attends UO (or did last year at any rate) I think he lived in the hullish area. Only problem? He’s an exclusive DOA player.

Yeah, problem is that I’m like 30 minutes away on bike from Hull. Even on car getting to Ottawa through the bridge is like a full hour.

Man this area is so badly made, we need a goddamn subway or busses that don’t fucking suck.
