720s and 360s

When you use a 360 and 720 character and you do the motions, do you ever jump up? I always have to do the 720 motion in the air so that when I land, I get it out. Or when I wake up. Obviously this isn’t good since it limits my options of when to do the 720. Are there anyways I can just stay grounded and not have to jump up? Or maybe I’m just doing it wrong?

For 360s, if you’re jumping before the move comes out, you’re doing the motion too slowly. You need to start at left or right and then spin that joystick in one snap motion around through the bottom and end at up (270), then hit the appropriate button as you reach it.

It’s impossible to do a straight 720 just by standing in place, so you need to do things that prevent you from jumping as you go through the motions. Stick out an attack, then start the joystick rotation as the move is recovering. It’s easier with fierces and roundhouses, they give you all day. Also try doing another special move, like whiffing a 360 (only recommended if you are Honda or Raiden), then coming back with the 720.

In a nutshell, do something that your opponent needs to block or otherwise worry about so they’ll stay on the ground, then as whatever you stuck out is being performed, use that time to spin the stick 1 rotations.

You can be grimey and do dash 720.

I do this with Zangief but not all the time … as the guy gets up I whiff an spd just as he gets up timed right so I can do the 720 right after, you can also pull it off with Raiden but you have to be faster his missed grab animation is so fast compared to Gief’s. I love japanese cabinets … your opponent never sees what you’re doing by simply looking over
