Is that a new “super” thing? I lost an entire match because of it. I was shocked…
new info? idk :
Against T.Hawk is better Shisso Buraiken since you can ultra after a blocked dive Hawk attack. It’s not hard at all. After i did the ultra for like 3 4 times against a T.Hawk that way, that changed completely the way he tried to approach me. If he jumps normally you can beat him easly with KRK…Dan is scary
I’ve had Sagat get hit by my Hissho Buraiken super, then EX Tiger Knee through it (or was it Uppercut?). Either way I was blowing through flowcharts til that happened. I was so sad.
Also, matchup thread is up. Ready to start adding to it now.
weird shits going on… I was in the dan boards and if I double click anything I can lock it? And I can change titles of threads? Nothing ever saves tho. Happening for anyone else? Only happening in Dan boards.
Bob Papenbrook did Dan’s voice in the Alpha movie? I guess I recognise it now. Papenbrook did Zhang Fei in all the Dynasty Warriors games, among other appearances (I remember that same voice being selectable in Neverwinter Nights too). Unfortunately he died a couple of years back.
While I’d rather have Yahoo to Woohoo too, I still use English Dan. I think it’s important that people use voices they can understand. When I turn on Taunt 8 against an opponent, I want them to know that it’s a respect taunt, after all, which they might not if they have him set to Japanese.
1.)Agreed
2.)“Come on” would be more accurate. And Dan speaks multiple languages, so its no biggie
3.) Hm i dont know what Hisshou or Buraiken really translates to, so I guess they just wanted him to say random stuff. But Yeah, its a move, it should stay the same no matter the language. Ryu and Ken dont say “Dragon Punch” and “Surge Fist”
“Come on!” would be more like “kakatte koi!”. “Hora” literally means “look” but it’s used to get attention so “Hey, hey!” would probably be the most accurate and natural translation.
“Gomen ne” would be sorry, Chun says that. “nai” means no, not or nothing so even though that’s poor grammar “gomen nai” would be “not sorry” “Gomen nasai” is a more formal way of saying sorry, wouldn’t suit Dan though.
I think it’s Yuri that’s stealing Dan’s taunts 3:16ish
Only reason i picked up Chun was for "Gomen ne!"
Dan needs a foward taunt, neutral taunt, and back taunt Also where the hells rolling taunt?! Thatd be the best way to dodge ultras
I read on the official list of changes srk wanted capcom to make for ssfiv that dan should get half a bar of meter per taunt. THAT would really help Dan
I guess because you can’t “stock” super bars like you would in Alpha and SF3 it’d make things a bit hax if Dan could gain meter by taunting but I see no reason why they didn’t give him the roll taunts back Maybe the overlapping inputs was an issue…
Finally started my own journey on the road to Saikyo. It was hard, but I’m getting there. It was a big change as I usually main Ryu, but a friend told me he wanted me to learn Dan to the point that I could beat some guys down at this place he goes. He doesn’t play himself but he wants to watch me show these people that Saikyo style is the best.
Weak Dankyakku has been my saviour, and EX Dankyakku. Also relising that crouching fierce is nowhere near as effective and anti-air with Dan as it is with a regular Shoto. It’s starting to come together now though. Impressed some people, impressed myself as well.
