So, apparently Dan’s second Ultra is the Haoh Gadoken. There was a stream from CES tonight, but I stopped watching before the Ultra was displayed. As such I can’t comment on it besides its name.
Try there. At about 26 minutes he picks Dan. His Ultra isn’t as over the top as the others, but it suits him.
yes haoh gadouken you are the best ultra ever!
Does he fall over after doing it? Yeah it’s not quite as epic as the Shissou Buraiken but if he can juggle it after KRK FADC that’s all that matters really, looks a damn sight more interesting than Metsu Hadouken. I fail to see the logic in using KKK over PPP for this, Gadoukens use punch buttons, it’s not like the command interfers with the old Ultra shrug
They’ve done a good job with Chunners, proper juggle on her new one but shortish range, now it’s a choice between good juggle or going through fireballs with her. Ultra Throw for Honda? Fucking hell as if he’s not already annoying enough as is, at least it’ll give him a reason to come to us I suppose… Rog’s a throw too? Hmm… I guess it’s an easy land after FADCing a dash punch. Must say Guy has two amazing looking Ultras now, almost makes me want to play him
The Haoh Gadouken is pretty much everything I wanted in a Dan Fireball Ultra.

Also, j.RH > cr.FP xx FP.Koryuken xx Legendary Taunt xx Haoh Gadouken.
There’s a chance that FADC into Ultra may cause some severe damage scaling (Judging from the REALLY shitty damage on Sagat’s Tiger Cannon from an uncombo’d FADC Tiger Uppercut), so maybe this could be an unaffected workaround.
Also, I’m wondering if we could get a single roll of the Legendary Taunt off before going into the Haoh.
So many possibilities.
I think Tiger Cannon just has shit damage, period. Was possibly barely charged against a high health opponent (though I can’t remember). Damage scaling is the same for everyone so a straight KRK FADC > Haoo Gadouken will have the first half unscaled with the second taking an 80% scaling hit, just like Ryu’s Metsu Hadouken. That combo you listed would look something like this:
j.HK - 100%
c.HP - 100%
HP KRK - 80%
Haoo Gadouken (1st half) - 70%
Haoo Hadouken (2nd half) - 60%
That’s if I remembered the scaling properly.
I think the single roll after Legendary Taunt is an almost definite yes, if you do it with Shissou Buraiken you run into them as they fall after the roll, if you don’t roll you run right under them
I want to know the startup on Haoh Gadouken.
Is it 10 frames like Shissou? If so: EX Gadouken FADC Haoh Gadouken = Massive Lulz.
Yeah think so, same as Ryu’s Metsu Hadouken if I remember correctly. That’s still very tight
Scaling is based on a per-input basis, but Ultras count as two hits in and of themselves in combos. So the Haoh Gadoken would do 60% damage for the entirety in that combo, assuming that there’s only one input to it.
From what I’ve noticed the scaling seems to change on the first and second half of the Ultra, I mean Sakura Otoshi is 3 individual inputs and hits but all 3 hits aren’t scaled the same. I’ll check again but I’m pretty sure that’s how it works…
I couldn’t find another thread more fitting to post this in (it got locked, =P)

I wish i made this.
Inspired scene taken from a classic Simpsons.
Sagat: Stupid sexy Dan!
So whats with this KRK FADC j.MP juggle thing? Is it worth my time learning, or should I really learn on focusing blocked KRKs?
Tacks on an extra 70 damage and 100 stun to any safe wakeup Koryuken attempt. Also makes for a good reset if your opponent’s in the corner.
Sounds good to me. More damage and stun is something you can’t complain about.
been away for a while, just saw “Haoh Gadouken” in video. My dream, which was posted in page 17, came true.
I still don’t see rolling taunts
There’s still time for rolling taunts, apparently Honda has got or is getting something new since that build so it’s still a possibility.
Dan’s Haoo Gadouken is up on the character page ~> http://www.capcom.co.jp/sf4/dan.html#ch
Looks like it has plenty of range so landing after a KRK FADC shouldn’t be an issue, still don’t know about damage since Sagat has barely any health left in the video.
Is it just me or is the animation for his Ultra I a bit different?
Dan’s Gadoken is on that page, but it’s only scoring 4 hits. I’m guessing that the number of hits dies down the farther the fireball goes? The earlier videos showing it being used point-blank were scoring 6 hits.
