I finally started to occasionally win with Dan. Most satisfying feeling in the world.
I had 5 sets of 5 round matches against an epic level Gen today. MK > Hands everywhere.
Luckily, I don’t think he knew the Dan matchup too well, and I got him with enough mixups to take two sets.
Thank god for LK Danku.

Dan’s still awesome after all these years, but Rufus, the fast-talking, buffet-devouring star of Street Fighter IV, is really giving him a run for his comic relief money. I love the way his rambling win quotes are a good three or four times longer than everyone else’s.
So, I’ve been hearing rumors that it’s possible to change the voices in the PC version of Street Fighter IV. Would it be feasible to swap in the original voice actor for Dan? The new Japanese voice actor isn’t doing it for me, and while the American VO does his best, it’s just not the same.

Is it normal to have a bad Sim matchup?

Man, I think Sim is pretty tough for Dan. But only the patient ones that zone well. He just has a tough time advancing.
I have been getting better in this matchup though. I just make my first priority to get in just outside of his throw range. At this point, it’s pretty easy to make him feel the rushdown. This is a rare case of when Dan is actually faster than his opponent.
I’d say it’s 5.5-6 in Dhalsim’s favour. Stretchy limbs can be beat out by (Air) Dan Knee, we have a good dash and LP Kouryuken for psychic limb punching. Once we get Sim in the corner he has a very hard time getting out with all the Knee pressure :tup:

This is a good question. I’ve long wanted this game to have voice clips from Street Fighter: The Game of the Movie.
XD I think Juri’s rival will be Bison, possibly Viper. Would be cool if characters got sub-rivals like in Alpha 3 (might have been in Alpha 2 as well), then Dan could be her sub-rival :tup:
We’d also see Dan being Sakura’s sub-rival as well methinks, more fun with those two, just love their relationship :tup:
I think Dan should be every character’s sub-rival. Dan is all about self delusion and insinuating himself into the tourney, no way do I believe he would let anyone advance to the end boss without them getting a taste of Saikyo power.
Hehe that’s very true but this is a tournament rather than just a “random” sequence of events like in Alpha, Dan will most likely get knocked out of the tournament before seeing everyone. Let’s not forget that there are people more important to a character’s story than Dan (hard as it is to imagine :P).
I’d really like to see sub-rivals though, more character interaction is what we need to make the story a bit more enriching :tup:
Yeah true, gameplay isn’t anything without story. That’s one reason why I really don’t lik KOF XII. Over the years Capcom has created some interesting character interactions and I see no reason why they wouldn’t exploit it.
