I don’t particularly care, much less agree with the notion that humanity being as worthless as it is somehow a modern construction and “pre-agricultural roots” were somehow “fairly egalitarian”. Sure, I suppose you could try to make the argument that tribal people generally looked out for one another way more than we do in modern society, but “duh” is my reply there. People generally getting along better in smaller groups where they have to rely on each other to survive and (vaguely) know each other better is basically a given and still is in effect to this day in a lot of non-urban areas. Just because people can cooperate, though, doesn’t change the ugly nature of the beast.

About the only other thing I agree with you on is that a lot of people hate their lives and take it out on others, but that generally can be fairly independent of sexism and racism and bigotry, which is easily taught and usually is to some degree since people are predisposed to picking up on differences. Also, hating one’s lot in life is hardly a modern construct as either, though I’ll admit that it’s likely gotten much worse than it used to be at large due to the nature of capitalism, consumerism and advertising. Modern society is based on people dominating one and other, and humans evolved to be treated as mostly equals. This is because when you settle in one place and grow all of your food, you may put a lot of work in to not get much at all, so you face starvation, and must invade other farmers land. This also means that people dominate others in their own “tribes” as well because there is a need for aggressive people at the top to ensure that war goes well.
So basically, we live in a world of domination despite being a species that does not cope with social inequality. This goes for pretty much everyone. Who in our current society believes in social hierarchy the most? Conservatives, racists etc. Who are the most angry and aggressive? Same group. So, people who believe in domination and social hierarchy are actually experiencing a bit of stockholm syndrome in my book, and are mentally ill.
Humanity is actually a really good species, we’re just not in a good spot right now. I can go into more detail as to why I think this happened, because its not as simple as agriculture, but agriculture is definitely the root of it.

Getting back on topic, I find it “humorous” that a lot of the accusations of black or non-white people being racist comes when they call white people racist since a lot of people act like being just being called “racist” is akin to committing genocide while eating babies. I mean, hell, even the KKK doesn’t say it’s racist, which says a lot.
Not that black people can’t be racist, of course, but given that people tend to not even be able to agree what being racist is, including ghost-dress-up time on days that aren’t Halloween as with the above group, I don’t see how you’d go about trying to determine “more racist”.

Personally, I think global climate change will probably end human civilization. I think you should really consider reading the book, even if you get it through illegitimate means. It has changed a lot of peoples lives, and its written as a conversation. So it can be finished in less than a day.
