As much as I enjoy playing this game atm, I don’t know if I can play SF4 for years to come without some balance changes and major game mechanic changes. The game can be even way better. Here’s hoping Capcom supports SF4 or fighting games in general.
Ono playing games again. Everybody knows there will be a follow up to SF4. Money is why.
did you play any game for years??
SF4 is the most balanced fighter around, there is no fighter that is better balanced at this moment.
This is what capcom does, They forget about there ip’s for years and then randomly make a new game featuring some of your old favs playable. Veiwtiful joe and darkstalkers come to mind 1st
Fuck yeah makoto
I think SFIV Dash will come out, but we probably have to give it at least till next winter… I think they would want to see if they can release a retail expansion. I mean it will be cheaper and easier to develop since the graphics and gameplay engine is done, they just need to worry about tweaking the gameplay/current characters and adding characters. And perhaps tweaking the network code. All of that, while still being a big undertaking, would still probably cost less to make than a new RE/DMC game.
And if SFIV Dash doesn’t come out, I’m confident Darkstalkers will find a way to make it to the PS3 and 360 (whether it be a PSN/XBLA remake title, or a DS4).
What game were you playing…
It was nowhere near as hard as MM1 or 2. I practically flew through the game.
they should just start over.
street fighter: the new beginning.
i can see why they dont want to, because sf4 was pretty much only a graphical improvement of ST :/. they just dont want to put time in it because there are way better fighting games out there (TEKKEN)
waits for the rage
Man I hope Tekken 6 is good. That’s all I’m saying on that. I won’t bite. =P
I feel that if they make a SF4 Dash it’d bring back the people that sold their copies in the first place. “Oh what balance changes AND new characters AND Ken’s shoryuken is even FIERY-ER?!!?!? I’m so getting it” Bam, mad money all over again. calling it right now.
Ibuki FTW.
I doubt that last part. People who returned it were probably put off by the difficulty and won’t want to try a new fighting game for a while. Especially not the same game with some slight changes. Especially since those people don’t care about balance changes and new lobbies.
I mean if you bought Halo 2 and hated it and returned it, then you probably didn’t buy Halo 3.
Please disregard snOOpee’s comment. It’s extremely obvious he’s trolling.
Well since you pointed it out now people are gonna re-read it and by self-obligation make a rebuttal. Good job. =P
WHATTTTTTT. Here’s to the 33%.
no, they will not!!!
because i had the urge but i did not do it:wow:
you guys should understand that making fighting game is intensely tiring . and is hard to make a good game and flashy game and neither 1 is always good .
if a fighting game is too flashy and epic like MVC2 , everyone whine and rant about the game for having so many infinites and unblockables . plus , whining that their idols are not in the game .
if the fighting game is some what perfect and balanced , people get bored of it and finds the game is dull because of juggle limit nonsense and also too little characters .
but to have both qualities in 1 , designers and staff will protest at their directors to have their wages to be increased .
also, they have secret private blogs ranting and cursing at capcom fans while listening to blink 182 .
that is why is not a good idea .
After 3 million sold? I’m pretty sure he meant before it released.
reposting this from another thread…maybe more relevant here
Capcoms told VG247 that its not currently working on any more updates to its historic fighting games, but will almost certainly revisit its older scrapper titles in the future.
Ill be honest: right now we have nothing in development, but weve been pleased with how our fighting games have performed and our re-releases have performed, so Id be shocked if we didnt explore that further, Capcom US business chief Chris Svensson said in a phone interview yesterday.
The publishers recent fighter releases needed some space to breathe, added the exec.
We have put out a fair number of fighting games in a very short window, he said.
We had HD Remix, Street Fighter IV, MvC2, well have Tatsunoko in the pipeline, and we have who knows what coming that we cant talk about yet, but suffice to say theres been a lot of fighting activity out of Capcom in the last year-and-a-half, and we probably need to give all of those products a little room to breathe and perform before we do some more.
Svensson was talking to us for this weeks podcast.
Really really hope they at least started working on dash…wtf otherwise…need to preform pfft
Pretty sure we will be getting a 2nd version of SFIV, just do not know when.
Maybe they don’t want to deal with the whining all over again. I’m sure they got their ears full with:
“Game is unbalanced” “Netcode is horrible” “Why didn’t you include so and so character?” etc. etc. :lovin:
I can’t see why Capcom doesn’t wanna continue such a legendary/well known fighting game. They havn’t been talking about it for 5-10 years, but I figured they would love the idea of a new one. Why wouldn’t they wanna see there game expend even more, seeing as its name is known between all the other good fighting games.
: Stupid that they wanna throw that away. But I don’t know their reason.
Although 66%, hm, there’s still a shot =D
‘‘Q: How do they come up with original moves for the characters?
A: They take the lowest ranking staff members and beat them to a pulp. Whatever hurts the most, goes in the game.’’
lmao. The guy writ a summary down there, its very interesting
