I believe that’s when the Tokyo Game Show is.
If Capcom were to announce something, that would likely be when.

That’s not really nerdy, man.
If you think knowing basic fundamentals of history (yes, I would include para’s post in the basics), then I’d have to qualify your post as one of the great many ignorant 09er posts on SRK.
Seriously.
No offense.
Azarel’s idea can still work, they can announce it but release it only when the game sales get low
I also think there are 2 other for the “low sales” [And I don’t think they are low at all]
Pirating casuals. Same as casuals, but they d/l the game and then if they like it they buy it. Since theyre casuals, they didn’t buy the game. Wouldn’t happen 10 years ago
Waiting - There are people who know Capcom and wait for the final version to come out before they’ll buy it. They’re not gonna buy a new one every year. Can also explain how the console sales of RE5 were better than SF4. Way less chances of Capcom deciding to release another version of it, and the game is pretty much final.
I don’t mind it being called nerdy.
If Zday happens, its going to be motherfuckers like me who live through that shit, while dudes like the guy I replied to (not dirty banana, the other guy) get their faces torn off by zombie hordes because they don’t know how to properly defend themselves.
But I digress.
Back on point, Az mentioned my main problem with any new SF release soon: I want more time with this game. Its a lot deeper than some people give it credit for and I really don’t want to switch or divide my attention yet…I want more time with SF4 before a sequel.
I pirated the PC version, decided I really liked it, saw the 15 Steam deal a month later and bought it. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have done so if I hadn’t pirated it.
The question for me is if Capcom would port a SF4:2 to the PC. Considering the tons of people who bought the game over Steam, especially in the 15 deal, it makes sense, but porting to the PC takes a lot of work.
Only reason I’m rather anxious for the revision is how buggy things are with hit boxes. I hate thinking to myself “that attack was in range, and it whiffed, and I lost because of it.” It’s just garbage to try being competitive in anything that has seemingly random variables that oppose what my intuition tells me is right.
It’s not like you’re playing basketball, and you shoot, and it hits the front of the net, and at first you thought it went in, but realize what really happened. It’s like you take the shot, it’s about to go through the hoop, and then the hoop falls off. You’d like to think “well it was going in, so two points for me” but it just doesn’t work that way.
Officially the most ignorant post I have read. Hopefully you won’t get run over by a BookMobile. Either way, try not to procreate too hard.
Enjoy perpetual stupidity you Dirty Banana! I hear it gets real fucking boring later on in life…
As for the rest of the thread, Street Fighter is free money for Capcom while earning a healthy amount of respect to cover up for overrated shitfests like Resident Evil 5.
Well you bought the game, but I’m sure there are others who d/led to try the game, saw it’s too hard and just deleted it. Just like the “used copies of SF IV” thread but with Capcom not getting profit from this
I thought the Vega wish list was rather fair, early on, as well.
That Ryu list though… o_O.
My head hurt after reading that.
Fortunately the Dictator suggestion suitably numbed up my thought processes enough to where the Ryu stupidity didn’t hurt nearly so bad.
This.
SF4 is one of the most defensive orientated fighting games on the market atm. Not to say that offense is bad but defense is just so good.
Yeah, the Ryu wishlist is crazy sauce.
I’m guessing it has to be rather inexperienced players who just don’t know what they don’t know.
street fighter 4 sold 2.5 million and a hell of alot of accessories. theres a 100% chance they make another one.
LOL!
Here is a perfect example of a post in the Ryu Wishlist thread that makes me want to shake babies.
And its a 2006 member too.
WOW.
Lets hope that capcom is not listening to nonsense like this, when and if they do release a sequel.
SF3 3s was created… ill always be happy with the SF universe
I think it’s safe to say that at LEAST 50%-75% of the people who bought SFIV would buy a sequel, and/or an add on.
So that’s still 1-1.5 million copies sold. Even if they only make a dollar off each game (and excluding DLC for any new characters an add on would get), that’s still an easy almost $2 million. You would have to be crazy to ignore that.
And they bitch about some of the Bison requests!!!
Personally, I feel that Dictator is THE most underrated character in SF4 amongst US players.
I know that Japan has more Dictator players (or so I am told)…but here you rarely see him represented well in tourneys.
He has GREAT GREAT stuff but people sleep on him, probably because a lot of his stuff is subtle and it takes a while to learn how to really apply many of his tools.
I think people use him until his shenanigans get figured out, then they move on to a different character…all the while, overlooking his really solid tools.
Was anyone else disgusted by Capcom when One said in an interview last year that the company had no plans to continue the series further after 3, until Ono stepped up to make a SFIV.
I think SFIV is awesome, but Im still a little sore from not getting a sequel to SFIII. I really hated to know that they didnt give a fuck about making a SFIV that whole time when many of us kept trusting in Capcom to make a SFIV.
Capcom create awesome characters, and great first games, but down the line they tend to neglect the games that were really successful. SFII and the early Megaman X series were great and popular. Down the line they kept doing odd side stories and started to shoot more games out in a series, just for money. I dont know many people who have played all the X series of Megaman.
Yeah you’ll have to tell me about some of the great great stuff with Dictator. I just don’t see it and it’s probably part of the reason why he’s barely seen in tourneys in Japan or in the US. Solid stuff…ok I’ll buy that. Anything better than solid or just stuff that’s unique at high level play? I don’t see it.
Not really…I mean I already had a good feeling that Capcom just wasn’t the same company it was years before. It didn’t help that Sony had this whole thing where they weren’t allowing anymore 2d games to be made on the PS2 unless they were “collection games” in the US. I’m pretty sure that’s part of the reason SF Anniversary Collection (that came with 3rd Strike…the only game that mattered on that disc) was released the way it was. If they had tried to release 3rd Strike by itself as its own disc in the US Sony would have put the ban hammer on the release of the game quickly.
So with all of that pressure it’s almost like Capcom had no choice but to drop what would have been a probable 2d sprite sequel to SF3. That…and the rest of Capcom didn’t even care because they came from an entirely different background gaming wise and were busy working on Resident Evil, DMC and Onimusha and honestly probably couldn’t care about what happens to SF when their games were already making Capcom bank at the time. To me it was like new people moved into Capcom’s home so Capcom for me was technically gone as of the year 2004 or 5. Anyone who thought Capcom in the state that they were would go out of their way as a company to make a new SF game were quite naive. Sad, but true.
It had to take someone who could think outside of the box and could figure out a way to market SF to a new audience to get the ball rolling. SF is still alive almost singlehandedly because of him. Well…him and all the loyal fans and competitive players.
Dictator: Good normals, good walk speed, decent FA, relatively decent pressure, but mediocre AA, ultra, and damage output. Overall risk/reward is rarely in his favor, and he doesn’t have many good matchups, just neutral or disadvantaged. I personally see him as a superior version of Claw in this game (Which isn’t saying much, lol).
How about actually learn what 3s is actually about instead of going online in SFIV, and mashing jab against your opponents.
