jz’s takes forever to fulfill game requests. i told them to get cvs2 like 2 years ago and it took them a year to get it. and they even said “oh we’re getting one soon”, not like i mentioned it and they thought about getting it.
but yeah, a gg game at jz’s would be okay i guess, but would the ubc people come down to burnaby to play? if the gg scene picks up, i might just try to actually learn the game. i’ve only played the game like once or twice on dc and it’s alright. never competitively though so i’m not gonna thrash it till i know for sure

Chris F: I remember when Ted Nolan won the jack adams… coaching buffalo and everything… but I also remember the tabloids posting that he came to practice all drunk and shit, because he was a chug… that is just too funny. I agree with you, Brett Hull can SNIPE like a mad man… But I disagree with you about the sedins… they have still yet to earn my respect, and I REALLY REALLY don’t think we should’ve wasted #2 and #3 picks on them. Just to name a few of the players we could’ve picked and who’ve blossomed into BETTER players today include Barret Jackman (Calder Winner) and Martin Havlat (Senator’s sniper)… but ah well.

Well the Sedins I agree are wimps. You could probably beat both of them up in real life by yourself. I didn’t see them play in Sweden, though I have heard that over there they were like 17 years old and they played keepaway against 30 year olds all day long in the elite league.
I look forward to the playoffs because this year it’s all or nothing for all the teams. If they make a big deal, get a real sharpshooter for the Sedins that would be an encouraging sign. I mean, whoever plays with them, they get chances, they need a guy who is LIKE Naslund / Hull in that sniping power ability.
Also against Minnesota and St.Louis it appeared that the Canucks defense were pretty lousy. They might legitimately suck… so we’ll see what happens at the deadline.
I’d play Isuka if it’s not a fucking dollar. UBC likes to rip people off and the only reason why I’m not playing GGXX #R is because it’s still a dollar. They’re not very bright either - they have 2 Virtua Tennis machines and 2 KoF 2003 machines but still only 1 CvS2, even though there is always a line up on the CvS2 machine and the other machines are usually empty. I mean it’s not hard to figure out what the popular game is…geez.
I’ve been neglecting fighting games recently and been playing too much Dragon Blaze. (Psikyo shooter) Damn that game’s tough.

And while I was down there, I dropped by JZ’s and talked to Alvin about GG Isuka… gave him some information on where he could get it ($2250 USD for a new machine). He said it was cheap for a new game and that he’d talk to the manager about it. From the talk we had, it sounded like they want GG Isuka over GGXX #Reload, probably cause of the 4 player deal.

anyways, i think it’s good what navid and paul are doing. they are practising weekly to play a game WITH arcade sticks. well at least i hope you’re playing on arcade sticks cuz our tournaments will hopefully be with arcade sticks. you people should i think really play a variety of games including marvel, cvs2, guilty gear, third strike because you will find that playing a number of games will in general, sharpen your skills in any other games. even though you’ll get rusty playing your usual games, you will be better at anticipating other games.
i mean… it took constant beatings at cvs2 to realize that i am extremely subjectable to jump ins because i like to poke with a fierce. taking this into account, my third strike is now lesss subjectable to jump ins. even though i suck monkey balls, no one jumps in on my now lol
We played most of GGXX#R on stick, and Navid played some CvS2 on stick but I played only pad for that. It wouldn’t do any good playing CvS2 on an american stick for me cause first, I don’t plan on learning the game, and second, if I did, the machines at UBC have japanese sticks which are way different than my american one.
Yeah that’s true about how playing one game makes you better in another. Playing a lot of GGXX#R has made me better in MvC2, since in both games you have to play more agressively and anticipate what the other guy is gonna do (more so than in other games I mean). Since a lot of GGXX#R is about poking patterns and combos, I rarely miss my combo strings in MvC2 now. Definitely has helped me improve in some ways.
Question for Archer: Based on how I played in CvS2 (I’m talking about my K-Groove teams, not C/A), would I stand a chance against the regulars at JZ’s?

Yeah, i had a good time playing GGXX#R on the stick… even though its quite different from the ones at UBC (at UBC the sticks are better IMO… the buttons are closer together, and i dunno… just feel better heh), the X-arcade is still pretty good. We should have a tournament at UBC for #R as soon as i get my FRCs and Dust Loop on joysticks down =D. I say give it till the end of the month.
Im not quite sure how you would do against them, since im not somone to say! Im not that good… but when Isuka comes to JZee’s, people will be asking how they will fair against you! hahaha
on that note, Everyone who goes to Jzee’s when Brian is there, recommend Isuka!
I hope he decides to get 4 cabinets (japanese style but with american sticks), or 2 cabinets with 2 sticks each… im thinking 1 cabinet with 4 sticks is gunna be hella horrible… unless the cabinet is huge. . There are so many useless arcades in JZee’s that wouldnt hurt to get rid of to make space for this game… like SvC, MvC1, MvSF, Atomic Bomberguy, that gay golf game, Tekken3, Gauntlet Legends… and others… all horrible, and wastes of space.
